I've been researching extensively as a brand new independent....according to some sites within the escort community, a lot of providers are starting social media, especially twitter....is it really that serious or helpful?

It was definitely helpful for me.
My friend who already had prior experience introduced me into the biz by offering duos, and she suggested that I make a twitter so clients can get a peek of what I looked like, without the commitment of paying for any advertising subscription.
It's an excellent way to connect with other workers in your area, as well as free advertising.

Im trying to get more active on Twitter. Royally suck at the whole social media thing, but already have had a lot of traffic to my website from twitter, and guys have mentioned stuff Ive tweeted so, I guess its doing something.
Don't blink. Don't even blink. Blink and you're dead. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink!

I have nearly 4000 followers on Twitter and haven't once booked a client from it. Aside from hobbyists DM'ing me for cyber sex talk, Twitter doesnt seem to be nothing but a space for working girls to connect with each other. Or at least be nosy/ lurk on each other.

Social media is great and can get you traffic, no doubt and I surely recommend having it. But it is about turning that traffic into paying customers - just like with a vanilla sales job, conversions is what is important. My own opinion, of course.

I used to have twitter when I used to escort and it never got me any clients other than making myself look like I had far too much time on my hands to chit chat to fellow escorts and followers, which you don't want your potential clients to know when they book you lol.
I would say for escorting it is a waste of time, but does all depend on what area or country you live in! Probably works for cam girls.
Even in my other normal job twitter never worked for me. Instagram seems to be the way forward for business now and linkedin.

Has twitter helped my business? Yes, I have had at least two people book me from twitter and a few regs rush to book me after posting photos. Is it worth it? Umm, not sure yet but I'm new to it and still learning. Twitter can potentially hurt your biz as easily as it can help it. Also the amount of time suckage can be obscene so you really have to be able to manage yourself ie. be able to stay off your phone or log out occasionally.
Twitter works best as a marketing platform than as a direct advertising platform although you can use it for that too. It helps you to refine your brand, put your personality out there (the best of it anyways), post photos, schedule, tours, network with other sp's, warn others/learn about bad clients, and keep up on sw politics.
Whether it is worth it or not may depend on the area you live in and whether you like/can manage the medium. There are also plenty of ways to fuck up on twitter so make sure you do your research so you are promoting yourself rather than sabataging your brand. Probably best advice I can give is to keep things professional, do not use it as a personal account where you can say/vent/argue about anything you want. Keep things positive, don't get too personal and stay about of drama lol.
Hey I live in london, uk. I started escorting more than 1year ago. I heard that twitter helps being noticed but I'm not sure about it as I keep very low profile as after 4-5 years I'm thinking of retiring. Would you suggest it then?
