Default adding your own sequins to shoes

has anyone bought regular pleasers and then added the sequins on themselves? if so did you use gorilla glue or a hot glue gun? how long did they stay on for?

ive talked to tons of girls who buy the sparkley pleasers just to have the sequins fall off. im curious if this way works better or if im just adding more work for myself

    Don't use a glue gun!
Use E6000! Dance studios use this to glue stones to costumes, dance mom's don't have time to reglue.
You may want to sand paper the shoes a bit first. The internet is your friend! Try etsy for supplies, happy crafting!

I used to want to do this too, kind of re-inspired me. I used to always want to own a pair of those pleasers with the rhinestone heels, but like you said the girls who owned them had half of the rhinestones falling off after a few months of wear. I used to read a lot of older threads and here is a relevant one that I thought was helpful. Maybe I'll finally make my own pair too.

I have an online store with custom shoes, I did 32 pairs last year. I can't get this dinosaur site to upload files, ugh.

No that's a different girl (erotomania on etsy and insta). I've had several pairs though and the glitter always outlasts the shoe.

For anyone thinking of doing their own shoes though, an 8" pair is going to take somewhere in the neighborhood of 4500 rhinestones so you really gotta ask yourself if it's worth that time. Also for my own shoes I don't use pleasers, if I'm going to spend that much time gluing stones on a shoe I DO NOT want to have them wear out in a few months. Sometimes you get a pleaser that lasts a long time but some of them seem to be falling apart nearly instantly lately. Their quality is all over the place since the last couple years. For those I splurge on one of the hand made brands- Karo's or heelsnthrills.com typically.

I have my store disabled right now bc I have two orders to fulfill or I would post the link. Mine are all rhinestoned, not the person you're thinking of on Etsy.

I crystalized some shoes a little while ago. I used e6000. Just a warning, that stuff is super toxic, don't use it around animals or children. Use in a well ventilated area, or do it outside. It's the best stuff though. I order my rhinestones from aliexpress.com It takes about 1 month for the order to arrive but it's the cheapest I've found. Don't order hotfix, they fall off the glue and it leaves an unsightly black spot.

I love AliExpress, I order a ton of pet accessories from there. It would be a good place to get bulk rhinestones for really cheap. Just check the seller reviews because there were a few occasions where an order I placed would not come, or would finally arrive after months. Most of the time I don't usually have issues with them.
