would it be okay for me just to dance on stage and not give dances? besides the loss of those tips.. would it matter?
does anyone do this?
are clubs okay with it?

Well, you're always allowed to turn down dances, but it's kinda how you'd make the bulk of your money.

This ^^
Unless you're working in an urban club or very rare ones where stage tips are awesome, there wouldn't be much of a point to bothering to come in. If there are a lot of girls working you might only go up once or twice, and there's no guarantees anyone will tip at all. In a lot of clubs, stage is simply advertising for private dances. Sitting around for the other four hours or whatever of your shift making no money doesn't sound like a good time.
A lot of strong hustlers avoid/pay to stay off stage because it ends up losing them money- it's much more likely that you'll close a big VIP sale than have somebody tip you hundreds on stage. This job isn't like the music videos tbh.
I worked at one club 10 years ago that a dancer did only stage. Now she was weird, between stage sets she just stared in the dressing room mirror and picked her skin (meth? Idk)
Try a club with more blue collar crowd and high top tables and quick customer turn over- more tip rail action since you can't get do a lap dance at a high top table, the guys can tip at the rail and spend less than a dance but get 10 + guys at that rail you can make some money each set.
This doesn't mean low contact, the club I was at you got some serious beard burn on your breasts...but making $40 to $60 in a three song set at 7pm was a nice trade off. Dances weren't bad at this club either, since there weren't rooms it was all in the open.

i guess it depends on the club, when i first started years ago there was one girl at the club who only did stage, in between stage she literally sat at a table the whole time and never moved and never talked to anybody
maybe very rarely at an urban club would this be worthwhile to do, but honestly thats kinda like asking if you can be a doctor who doesn't have to interact with sick or unhealthy people ever and only tells people they're cured.
private dances are 75% of the job. if that doesn't float your boat, then dancing is not for you, but you might consider camming.
Do your future self a favor and work hard now.

That's like...the job .getting naked and giving dances is kinda what it's all about. If that doesn't appeal maybe try burlesque or like gogo dancing lol, because you probably won't even be able to make your house fee on just stage, esp if there are a lot of girls on.
I've done business with men who think I'm as silly as I look; by the time they figure out I'm not, I've done got the money and gone -Dolly Parton
a motherfukin hustler kamikaze//I used to bus tables but now I sell my body
I am a full time cam girl so the loss of tips wernt my worry. just if the managment would mind? its from the love of pole dancing and preforming.
Unless you're at an urban club, you'd be sitting around for hours waiting for your chance to go on stage.
At my club we only go on stage 1-2 times per night.... so you'd be sitting around for 5 hours and only actually performing for 30-60 minutes depending how many songs and stages there are per set. then you'd have to pay your stage fee & tip out based on only stage tips, meaning you might walk out in the negative (owing the club more money than you made) some nights.
i second looking into gogo or burlesque dancing. if there are any urban clubs nearby you could look into them too, many of them are more stage focused. at a traditional club though this would really not be worth the while. you'd be wasting time you could spend camming.
Do your future self a favor and work hard now.
thanks everyone for your suggestions![]()

I know one dancer who doesn't do couch dances but she has INSANE pole and hoop skills. You better bring something to the table, that's all I gotta say. It can be done.

All I can say is good luck with that. If you're not comfortable doing lap dances you shouldn't be a stripper, plain and simple. That's how we make money. Unless you're an instagram model with a big following and can twerk at a popular urban club.. you're not going to make any money. Why do girls think they can just take their clothes off and guys will throw hundreds at them? I really wish it worked like that but it doesn't, at all.

Do webcamming or peep shows.

If you're in this business for the "love" of pole dancing and performing and not money, open up a pole studio, compete in pole dancing contests, do something that is a better outlet for your aversion to money.
Or better yet, maintain your artistic integrity by pole dancing to your little heart's content and giving the proceeds to another SW member.![]()

Seconded. Some of the best pole performers I've ever worked with still have to do lapdances because you can't count on the crowd to appreciate it and tip you accordingly every time you work. If you only want to pole dance keep camming and just join a studio. A lot of them do showcases for people who want to perform.

Also, I know you said you just want to dance and don't care about tips but if you're working, only doing stage, and not making the club money and/or unable to pay house fees because of it management will probably just end up getting really annoyed with you. It's just better to skip all that aggravation and go to a studio.

Being a stripper for the "love of performing" is like reading Playboy for the articles.

Don't bother working at a strip club. It'll be pointless. You're going to be paying house fees/tips outs justvto prance on stage??
Um...
Try a gogo bar.

I suppose it's optional. If you're okay with making $30 every night.
