    Default Olaplex

Does anyone have this done? My hair is so fine, and the coloring made it dry. Just wondering if it is worth it and Wlil it really keep my hair from breaking. I'm trying to grow my hair long, but my hair breaks and it sucks.

Olaplex is the reason my hair has been able to grow as a platinum blonde. When my hair gets bleached there is no fallout aside from maybe one or two hairs. My hairdresser is awesome and orders it from the site for me so I don't have to pay markup at salons. Everytime I get my hair done I bring it with me. Her salon doesn't want to shell out the money for it and her clients don't want to pay extra for Olaplex so this was the only way I was going to be able to have Olaplex done.

I would be cautious ordering from third party websites. Be careful

I have level 2 dark roots to pretty much white and my hair is soft, shiny, and full. But she also uses two different types of gentle lighteners on me. Ah the price of being blonde

^^ This may seem like a dumb question, but I wanted to use Olaplex to go from having medium brunette hair to a light brown/honey blonde bayalage. Is Olaplex just for going blonde, or any hair color?

Also what helped with my hair growth was when I first met my stylist, she worked with my breakage and gave me a super layered cut to work with how uneven my hair was from breaking off. So she was able to cut off a lot of damage without sacrificing length. And as soon as the layers got long enough, she was able to give me a blunt cut. But I ended up asking her to give me a layered cut recently just because I prefer my hair more wavy than straight and the layers created the waves for me.

You can buy generic Olaplex from Sally's Beauty..btw there's 3 steps to it, which I didn't know..I bought step 3, (the cream, in a plastic bottle) from a salon, it was the original Olaplex, & it had a #3 marked on it.
I used it when I touched up my roots, it's been awhile now.
I would never have my hair done w/o out now.

Edit: I just tried looking for the generic Olaplex on Sally's online, it doesn't show, but I know they have it..it's carried in the hair dye section, where they have Grey Magic, additive for sensitive scalps, temp touch up stuff, etc. I would ask for it in-store. They have single use packets, & tubes of it.

I went to Sally's and found it. It's called Absolute Perfection. Gonna give it a whirl, it had good reviews online.

Try Amazon, Ebay, or search hair beauty products. If you try Sally's Beauty, I'd ask a customer service rep, I did a search on the site, & also looked for it by the hair color prods (the section where it's sold in the store) I didn't find it either way, but I know they have it.
    Good luck

Olaplex is magic. But the science kind of magic. It is a patented chemical, not sure if the dupes use another chemical with atoms that reform disulfide bonds, but as far as I understand, they do not. You can condition, and add protein to hair but (again as far as I know) only Olaplex can actually repair hair.

Hi, #3 is just diluted #2 but salons only sell #3 because they don't want you to have the full strength stuff at home and stop getting treatments (not that the salon you buy from is using this mindset, just that Olaplex literally doesn't allow salons to sell #1 and #2 so that Olaplex at it's best is a salon only service). If #3 is cheap enough and is working for you, keep using it for sure, but if it's a similar price as #2 online I'd def go for that instead.

Olaplex is great. You can use is as a stand alone treatment or with any and every color or lightening princess performed. It works best with professional color. I don't know about Sally's dupe as I always buy mine from cosmo prof. And the 3 steps are really only two. The two conditioners are the same, the last bottle is just to give to the client to take home.

Another fantastic treatment is Paul Mitchell Keratriplex. Great for fine, curly owe chemically treated hair. I do a treatment every 3-4 weeks.

Ok so I used the Sally's dupe (Step 1 and 2) and I have to say my hair isn't even dry yet, but it feels better. Like it doesn't have that I-just-fried-my-hair feeling. My strands feel stronger and I am excited to see how much stronger this is going to make my hair. I have been doing everything I can to make my hair grow longer and aside from vitamins , this should help. I've had breakage and I'm hoping this will reduce the breakage greatly. I see my hair growth...it grows about 1/2 inch a month, but the breakage keeps it from getting long. I really hope this helps. Keep you all posted.

Ok. I have 2 prods (actually 3) in my posession you need to know about, the one I talked about eariler, Chloresteral by Queen Helene. It's an old school deep conditioner.
I also bought from Sally's Ion brand 2 step repair packets (there's an Aphogee prod, but this's supposed t/b better) step 1 is protein/2 is the hydration. Has a strong 5 star rating
Fron Ulta I just started using today, Marc Anthony Strengthening Gro Long, it has caffiene & ginseng to help stimulate growth.
I also do a scalp massage, sometime w/coconut oil
I love African Pride Olive Miracle braid spray, it has rosemary, mint, tea tree oil, it's very soothing for the scalp, & those herbs help w/growth.
    So some ideas for you.

Also, I liked & used Juice Organics deep conditioner w/coconut, from Ulta. I bought & used a couple of the indiv packets (they give a lot!), it also comes in a jar, so I got that.
You can use it on your hair when it's dry, or use after a shampoo. You can leave in overnight.

Ok so I just left Sally's with the goodies whirlerz suggested. So I'm excited to try them.

Still noticing breakage though. Does it take several applications of Sally's Olaplex dupe to work? My hair looks and feels nice, but still seeing breakage. I should probably get a trim.

Gosh, hon, not sure bout that..only thing I can suggest is go for a consult w/a beautician..usually Sally's has 1 on staff
Are u handling hair gently, (it's frustrating I know, mine's hard to comb cause of this last idiot I let color me) I don't use any heat, when you comb out your hair, always start at the very bottom..
Tangle Teezer brushes are great for getting thru tangles if you need that (I do) there's now one for curly hair, I use that.
    Good Luck

In all honesty, I'm overdue for a trim. I think that's where I need to start. I don't brush or comb wet hair, just let it dry naturally. I do flat iron my hair, but try to keep it at a munimum. I think the coloring and flat ironing is what causes my hair to break.

I was using a heat protectant which I need to get more of.

Definitely need a trim. Gonna book one now.

Yea, try to @ least cut back on the heat iron as much as possible.. Another prod I use/like: Ken Paves You are Beautiful Relaxing Balm, Walmart or kenpavesyouarebeautiful.com
You put on wet hair after washing, it relaxes the wave/curl
