Default Question about delivery options under my stage name

I currently have all my orders or gifts from amazon going to a mail forwarding service called reship. Only problem is that reship is in Oregon on the west coast and I live on the east coast. My last shipment cost me $75 to ship PLUS I had to wait almost 2 weeks to get my stuff

I would rather set up a po box but from what I have read before, is that you can't use alias names such as a stage name. I've seen that some girls use mom and pop mail services but how would I go about finding a mom and pop service? I don't know what to look for in the phone book? Or what would I google?

Does UPS or fedex let you use alias names and do they keep your identity safe?

What would be the best option other than the mail forwarding service? I want to find a mom and pop mail service, fedex or UPS tho, something like that.

I have a P.O. box under my escorting name.

This is how I did it -

I opened a personal P.O. box and then had the post office add my escorting name to my P.O. box as well so my P.O. box accepts mail for both my real name and escorting name. I am on friendly terms with employees at my post office and didn't need to provide any documentation relating to my businesses.

I have a UPS box. When I opened it years ago, I told the employee I was going to have mail delivered to my alias. He told me that was fine and many people do that. I have never had any issues.

    Honestly, straight to my door

I use my stage name for amazon, use something such as Erika Williams for 2 fans that actually mail gifts . When I move this name is included in forwarding mail too. Pretend my sis lives with me or I get her mail if asked but noone asks. I have never had a issue getting packages through services such as Amazon.

Can't someone get your real address like that?

Yeah, you are right about being able to google your address (just like you can do a reverse search on a phone # and get a name, you can do the same thing with an address). Its called reverse address lookup, I put in my address and found my current name and my name and last name from my last marriage plus my kids name! Not sure how they would get your address tho but I am sure it's possible. I have read somewhere here in the forums that it is possible for them to receive your name if the gift is from a 3rd party or something like that. Not sure if they would get your address or not tho? Pretty scary tho! I've already had a couple of crazy stalkers, not that showed up to my door yet but still pretty scary!!

Matter of fact I may go back and delete this post soon so that I don't help any one that may be lurking these forums! Just wanted to throw this out there real quick

Regarding using your real address: I used to do this and when you authorize 3rd party sellers they might release your address.
A client of mine found out my home address this way. Thankfully nothing happened but it was enough to scare me.

It's so worth it to pay for a PO box. Mine lets me use an alias as well.

I will also mention deliverycode.com - a site that hides your address. I do not recommend it. It costs $10 shipping and they take a hefty fee. I ordered an item there with a voucher weeks ago and it still hasn't shipped. I thought I would mention it though because it is a viable and safe option from what I've experienced, and people can send you vouchers that you can direct deposit or use for your wishlist.

Most the time if a performer's address is found on Amazon, it is her fault, there is a option to hide the address.

Im not trying to be a smart ass but go purchase me a gift and find out what is seen

Even if you hide your address, can't they still get your address if it ends it being thru a 3rd party seller?

Like I said, it happened to me through the 3rd party sellers. I had everything on lockdown. They emailed the buyer with the information on where it was going to be sent.

I didnt realize you were talking third party sellers on amazon

I missed the part dealing w third party sellers, yes, they do leak out info. Never use the third party.

Yes 3rd party sellers can release your real addy if you are using it in an Amazon wish list. Amazon does not. You can turn the option off or on in your account settings.

I allow 3rd party sellers on mine because I live in a place where it is legal for me to keep a big ass Ruger .44 on my nightstand. LOL

In addition to 3rd parties a few posts on here stated that if a customer purchased a gift or giftcard they can call Amazon an get the recipients info.

I have my PO Box in my real name. I get Amazon things sent to my stage name. There has never been an issue. They will put anything sent to your PO Box, regardless of name, in your PO box. Even if I get an orange slip to where I need to go pick packages up, they've never asked for an ID.

To set-up a USPS PO Box in the USA you need to use your real name (9-1-1 rules require verification it's really you setting it up). Some USPS PO's also have a special service where they will even sign for your UPS & FedEx packages, and send you a message saying it's waiting for you..... but I think that is only in larger cities. Ask the staff if they do that.

    What I did:
I used my real name to be verified, but set the PO Box name up as my company name, example: XYZ Media

That way, you can have package sent to your company name (they don't verify your company info, so use the company name you use on your tax forms. You do use a company name on your business tax form filings, right? You should. And your PO Box, being that it has your company name on it is a tax deduction. Use those deductions, ladies & gents! =)

On the form it allows you to list your employees, which of course is your model name =)
This way you, as the company owner, can pick up package for your 'employee' without needing to jump through hoops.

PS: I would set up your PO Box in the next town over from where you live. Just in case stalkers want to use your POB zip code to locate you. Throw them off.

Also, of all forms of deliver, a USPS PO Box is the cheapest! You can get the smallest box offered very cheaply. https://tools.usps.com/go/POLocatorAction!input.action If something is too large to fit in the box they'll hold it, for a a couple of weeks, behind their counter or in a special lock box. But check your box often, or they may send the box back, thinking you're not going to pick it up.

IF you are in the U.S. and have your name registered as your business then you can add it to your P.O box. In the past I spoke with USPS and you can only have mail delivered to a name if you show ID for that name. Maybe some post office locations are more lenient but that is what I was told. They said if you have my performer name registered as a business then you can use it.

I really don't think they enforce it. My boyfriend and I both have PO Boxes at different post offices, and he's been getting various mail to different names at his box for years. People who had the box before him. They still deliver it. Same with mine. If your box # is on it, they'll deliver it. I get Amazon packages to mine all the time, and have never had an issue. More often than not, they put a key in my box and I get my own packages from one of the lockers. But I haven't had a problem picking them up with a slip either. I don't register my cam name as a business because then someone could easily look up who owns said business and see my real name.. so no thanks.

ETA: If you try to ADD a name to the box. Like as a registered user of the box or someone else to do pick ups from the box. Then they need an ID. But that step is unnecessary.
