    Default Makeup and Hair Help!

Hello! I am very clueless in the makeup and hair department and am really hoping to get into exotic dancing. I have started with a couple contouring kits and have considered fake eyelashes and was thinking about putting blonde highlights in my hair but have no idea what to buy makeup wise or where to start teaching myself how to make myself look the part. What should I buy? What videos to watch that actually are easy?!?I watched so many but apparently I'm just not getting it PLEASE HELP!!!!

Well, you're pretty, I like your hair color, but highlights would ' bump you up'..
I usually look at fashion magazines, esp Teen Vogue, & similar, lots of makeup ideas. I go to the library, you can check out past issues
It just takes some practice, if you go to a makeup counter, they have make overs, ask if they're free. Sephora has some makeup classes, I had them show me using false lashes, I did have to buy a pair
Elf brand, NYX, are some good to start out w/ & not too expensive

Highlights for sure. Play up your eyes. I would try to make your eyebrows a little wider/ fuller but not over the top- like this:

    Brow.jpg

And do coppery/ brown and gold shadow colors.

Contour kits are good but I would not go over the top if I were you as this trend is starting to die out... I would do a more "girl next door"/ young/ innocent look like this:

    Look.jpg

Though you can do a darker lip depending on the outfit.

With your hair- I would blow it out and wear straight or straight on the top with loose curls at the end.

Hi! I am really new to dancing also, but I am really into makeup and beauty so I can help there! You are really pretty so I agree with trying more of a girl next door look! I think the too faced sweet peach pallet and the tarte in bloom pallet would be beautiful with your skin tone and eyes! I also highly recommend the elf blush pallet it's really pretty and pigmented with 4 colors! Also don't forget a setting spray I personally use urban decay all nighter it's wonderful! Good luck!

Thank you! I purchased some ELF brand items and absolutely love them! Affordable, cruelty free (I think?), and agrees with my skin, thanks so much for your help Sorry for the late reply.

Thank you so much for your detailed tips They are really helpful! Sorry for the late reply. Yeah after trying the contouring for a week or two I'm not a huge fan of it and have noticed it has kinda totally died trend-wise as well. I thought it was a must after a friend told me that it was the only way to go. Would you suggest I take the "girl next door" persona further? My boyfriend has even suggested it because of my height (I'm about 5'1 ish) and my "baby face" lol.

Thank you so much <3 Are you loving it??? Sorry for the late reply!! I am so going to check those products out, thanks so much for your advice!!! Would totally not even have thought about a setting spray. I honestly saw on a show beauty contestants spray their face with hair spray to set and thought "huh maybe I should just do that" and was totally planning on it. Just checked and the only hair spray I have is maximum hold and can only imagine how that would have played out xD

Hey I just saw your post I think you would be better off with a very light, mousey brown color instead of that red undertone. If you can pick up some extensions I think it would change your look completely, I use glue-ins. If you can tan? it wouldn't hurt, or get a spray tan, but please do not fake bake yourself. For makeup just work on the eyebrows, watch some tutorials. I think you would look really pretty with a natural lip and some false eyelashes. I definitely agree with everyone else that the girl next door look would work super well. After you save up some money get eyelash extensions!!! They give me life lol.

Omg, in the 2nd photo, I love her hair! My look is very similar. Thanks for posting this. I wanted to do something different with my hair color without going overboard.

To the OP...you have such pretty features! I would go to a makeup counter or watch youtube tutorials and have them show you how to do your makeup. That is a good way to learn. And practice. Don't be afraid to experiment.

Maybe some extensions would be fun! You can try Clip ins first. Just make sure the wefts aren't too heavy or else you can get bald spots. I use clip ins and I literally use scissors to thin them out so it's easier on my scalp and it looks way more natural.

I know this thread is a little older now, but I would also suggest clip-in hair extensions. Your hair color doesn't necessarily determine your money, but having full/perfectly styled hair helps a LOT.

I would still recommend contouring, it makes your cheekbones more prominent and can really help you to stand out in a sea of other girls with less perfect makeup.

False lashes and more prominent eyeshadow would make you look more strippery, but you're naturally beautiful, and could go without it.

I wouldn't overthink your club persona just yet. The "girl next door" persona is appealing, but you also don't want guys to think you're inexperienced or to try to take advantage of you. I think just being a more sexualized version of yourself is the easiest way to go.

I agree you are very pretty! I have read a couple times that girls dont see that much of a difference in tips between loads of makeup and light makeup. But it depends on what look you are going for. A more natural look will make you appear approachable. ^and NYX is great. I love their eyeshadow primer. any cheap eyeshadow will last on that stuff.

I am a huge fan of coconut oil, when I am on a regular regime with it I often get compliments from strangers for both my hair and face. I lather my hair up and wash it later for a conditioning treatment. I never get pimples because of it.

I'd say start off with 14-16 inches and the go longer as you get used to them since hair extensions are a little bit heavy. 14 inch goes past your boobs or at least over them so it's a good legnth to start at. If you don't have a budget I recommend ballami or vpfashion. If you do have a budget, typing in double weft clip in extensions on amazon will show you some good ones. I get mine from the Amazon seller sexybaby. They're nice and soft and thick.

I think you'd look great with some bangs, you can get clip on bangs if you don't want to commit to cutting your hair. Get human hair ones, and get them professionally cut so they sit properly.
