    Default Sleep patterns

Has anyone experimented with or do they practice Polyphasic Sleep?

I struggle with sleeping at night, I'm tired but can't sleep then Im shattered all day and I'm sure its not my lifestyle or food intake. Just wondering if Im sleeping too much. I sleep between 7-9 hours but feel Like a nap during the day would refresh me. There's not a lot of info on the net on it so thought I would ask you ladies.

I say sleep when you can. Start a sleep diary. Include what you ate and if you're having any pain/anxiety. Where you are in your cycle, worries. ect. Alot of times I wake up with a stuffy nose. I have to use saline drops to open it back up and they don't work right away. But the good nose drops cause rebound. Plus if I lay on my back I sometimes relax too much and my tongue blocks my airway. So I wake up choking. I'm not overweight.
Hopefully you can figure it out. I hate feeling like a slug when I'm supposed to be up and productive.

Have you tried using the "sleep cycle" app? It measures your sleep phases, how long they last, what time you sleep best, etc. I've been using it for a couple months and it's pretty useful. Try adjusting when you sleep and see if that helps.

I sleep 8-9 hours a day and I am all ok. Sometimes even 10.
My bf sleeps only 5-6 hours and he is rested.
If I sleep only 5-6 hours, I can't focus on anything and I feel like shit.

So... if u are rested when you wake up and even need a 1-2 hours nap, is all fine.
Some of us are built to sleep more and some are built to sleep less...

In my case, i work night shifts and is normal to feel the urge to sleep right when I start work ))) Some coffee/ green tea always helps.

I never sleep well due to medications and anxiety. Most meds and even suppliments can disrupt sleep, so keep that in mind as well (physical activity affects it as well so try to get in some exersise during the day). I've tried Polyphasic Sleep method using the 5 hour then 3 hour to see if it would help since I don't do a full 8 hours normally and it only seemed to make things worse for me.

All I can recomend is keep track of when you sleep and how long and find the right time for yourself & nap if you feel the need. Everyone is diffrent. You may sleep better in the early morning or better in the afternoon; find something that fits.

When I'm trying to get back to a certain sleep schedule the website http://sleepyti.me/ is very helpful. I think they have an app also.

Thanks for that. I used sleep apps about 5 or 6 years ago but they werent that great or accurate. They may have come along since I last had one so I'll try that one. Thankyou.

The last few ddays I have been to bed at 10pm, midnight and 1am
When I sleep to 8/8.30am I feel groggy but the last 3 mornings I have woken at between 7/7.30am. I do feel like Ive had restful sleep, lucid dreams but I am shattered, my eyes are tired and by 2pm I'm ready for an hours nap. When I wake from that nap after about 20mins I am revitalised for a while. Caffeine has no effect on me unfortunately or Id be living on it right now.

I am due on any day so that may not be helping :-(

Omg download Marconi Union album called Weightless ! It's been scientifically proven to induced relaxation and sleep. I've tried it and I swear on it! My family and friends have too and all said it knocked them out! ALERT: DO NOT LISTEN TO WHILE DRIVING!

On 16 October 2011, Marconi Union created an eight-minute track, titled "Weightless", in collaboration with the British Academy of Sound Therapy.

According to scientists at the Mindlab institution (a commercial 'neuromarketing' company) it induced a 65% reduction in overall anxiety and brought test subjects' resting pulse rates to 35% of their usual resting rates. The song features guitar, piano and manipulated field recordings. It is punctuated throughout by low tones that supposedly induce a trance-like state. This piece propelled the band into the media spotlight and news reports, and was reported in newspapers worldwide.[7][8]
    Wiki:
In November 2011, Marconi Union were featured in Time magazine's list of Inventors of the Year, for writing and recording "Weightless".[9] "Weightless" has been streamed more than twelve million times from Spotify alone, while various YouTube videos have been viewed millions of times making Weightless one of the most well known ambient tracks ever. In January 2017 it charted in the Billboard charts. Despite this, Marconi Union have consistently refused to be drawn into any debate about the scientific findings, preferring to discuss "Weightless" in purely aesthetic terms.
