Default My first night ... :(

So, Last night was my first night to ever dance. I got there a 8:30, by the time I got dressed and spoke with the manager it was 10:30 when I hit the floor. When I arrived I didn't have tip out so she told me to get it as soon as I could. Some girl took me under her wing, but left when it was money making time. Understandable. But holy shit, I was nervous. I told the dj to skip me on stage. I literally walked in and out of the locker room all night. The club was packed but I couldn't walk up to someone and say hi!!! There was plenty of men staring at me, and I looked sexy AF, but something was holding me back. I changed info my regular clothes twice and changed my mind both times, to try to make some money. So I wold go back out, and hide in the back somewhere or behind someone. At 1:30 I was like fuck it and left. When I was walking out of the locker room the manager found me and told me to just let this be my last night and good luck somewhere else.

    Ugh!!!!!

It's normal to be nervous but you gotta talk to people. Good luck at the next club.

Aw man, first night jitters are normal. But you gotta talk to people. You have to go onstage. This is all part of the job.

A packed club can be intimidating to even an experienced dancer. The key is to not focus on the entire club. Try and just scope the crowd for that one target. I tend to look for the one who is not physically attractive. They are the ones who pay for attention. Then envision yourself having a fun three minute conversation with that target, and then closing the sale. Once you sell those first couple of dances, your confidence will increase and the crowd will pick up on that, leading you to sell more dances.

You looked sexy, you said. Believe in yourself! If you're not feeling confident, then step into your confident stripper persona, the one who can sell a dance to everyone.

Good luck at the next club.

next time you audition, don't go in at night. Go in as early as possible, as soon as the club opens, and work day shift for several months until you get confident enough to handle night shift. It will be dead with very few customers and you can practice talking to them in a low pressure situation.

if you can't bring yourself to get on stage or talk to customers in the daytime, however, I'm afraid this job might not be right for you. its normal to be nervous at first but being so nervous you can't speak to a single customer seems possibly insurmountable. good luck next time!
Do your future self a favor and work hard now.

I recommend starting on day shift in this case. There will be less people and less girls workings and you will most likely not be as overwhelmed and house fees are usually either non existent or very low on day shifts so you won't have to stress about making money to pay the club. Once you're more comfortable approaching guys and being on the floor you can start to try night shifts. Good luck. The nervousness goes away in time, I promise.
