Default Do you lie about how long you've been dancing/at the same club?

So almost every convo with a rusty they ask how long i've been dancing/at the club I'm at, and I have a feeling it's better to say a shorter (but still believable) time span than is actually true.

Example: I've been dancing 7 years and also started at that club 7 years ago even though I took breaks, went to other clubs etc. I feel like saying that makes me seem old/damaged goods.

I definitely don't act like a newbie, so I wouldn't use that hustle lol but am thinking 2/3 years is a good answer. What do you guys say? You don't want them to think they can pull a fast one on you either.

I only tell the the span of time I've been there recently... like I've been back about a year (though have taken many breaks) I'll either tell them I've only been there a few months to a year, I feel the smaller number comes off better... I only talk about something closer to the entire span I've been dancing if they start asking about if I've worked anyplace else. I've never been asked how long overall I've been dancing as a follow up to this, yay for that. Really it's been over ten years and the place I'm at now was my first but I would never outright tell a customer anything close to ten years. I'd rather them think I had some kind of predancing life.

I should do this too. I haven't considered this since I don't really care anymore and I rarely go in nowadays. I think there is some truth to it. Maybe telling guys you've danced for a lot longer than they would have expected has a sort of stigma to it. Like they would imagine an old washed up stripper with smoker's voice. Heaven forbid you end up getting some sort of lecture about how "ya know, you can't do this foreva!" I find it helpful to lie about a day job in addition to dancing to avoid that part. Anyway, a customer yakking my ear off about how I shouldn't do this or shouldn't do that is often not worth the time.

Been stripping for nearly a decade and I always say that I've been dancing one year, but I have a girl next door look and want them to think I'm innocent

Yes, I lie. I say been there about 2 years, on and off. I tell them I travel to other towns to dance at too.

My go-to answer is "on and off for a few years." Really it's been about 7 years... but I look young, and I avoid giving my age. Lol

same situation here, i'm turning 29 soon and have made the mature decision to start lying about my age. so 7 years in the biz doesn't sound good. plus, guys don't think you are fresh meat if you tell them you are a vet.

They start to see you as "damaged goods" or someone who doesn't have anything better going on in their life if you give them an answer like 3+ years. It's stupid, since we probably make more than they do at their cushy, society-approved corporate job

    Yeah exactly.

Ultimately it comes down to hurting our income. From their perspective why would they want to see some old, washed up stripper dance. Even if the dancer doesn't look any of those things, that's how some of those guys are going to think, just like how they think strippers are just a bunch of dumb bimbos with daddy issues. They're going to have these notions anyway. Why not play it up and pretend, "I only worked here for a few months."

I've never had a customer say anything negative about how long I've been dancing. I've been dancing 4 years, it's never lost me a sale and I've never gotten pity for it... It's probably got more to do w our own individual attitudes and our own ideas about how others perceive us. I expect to be respected no matter what, because I love my job and I have no shame about it and if anyone else does, it's really not my problem or something I even notice. But I definitely see why people would say that, I've lied before and pretended to be new because I didn't want to deal w people asking if this is "all I do" or if I'm "in school" or whatever. It's fucking annoying, like just do your job and pay me, stop with the questions.

oh yeah, the dreaded "so what else do you do?" I never know what to answer to that, plus those guys are usually time wasters. But somehow they always throw me off my game with that.

For some reason I get this one a TON lately, even from guys who do eventually spend. Depending on how it was asked I either just turn it right back "do you have a night job?" etc or if I might say something like, "well if you're doing this and you need another job..." and let them go "ohhhhh that makes sense" although there were periods of time that I was working/working part time, it's just none of their damn business.

I've always been honest until this year. For me I think past the 5 year mark is where it goes from "yeah so I know how to give a reaaaaally good dance *wink*" to them thinking it's sad or whatever. I'm definitely never going to age over 30 either since that is a bizarre cut-off for so many guys.

I started lying towards the end at my home club. I had been there 2.5 years and even *that* seemed to turn dudes off.... which made me shake my head & chuckle at them privately; if only they knew that there were tons of girls who had been working there 5+ years, even up to 15 years.

If I told them the truth, they'd get all "Are you going to school or anything?" like it was sad to them. Oy.

By the time I retired I'd been dancing for a decade but my standard answer to custies was always 3 years. If you tell them you're new they think you're open to being manipulated by them, if you tell them you're very experienced they think you're old and washed up. 2/3 years is exactly the right time to make them think you're young but knowledgable.

Yea to be honest I lie all night long to everybody about everything just to get my "lying game " going lol....so uh...like I practice lying to other girls ...club employees...and 1000000% the customers cuz this is a fantasy bro. If I gave them my "real self" I'd prolly spend all the money I made working on a therapist sooo lol. We're dancers but we're also actresses ...the strip club is not the real world it is a controlled environment where we sell "ourselves"....just my opinion...if we become friends ( other stripper wise ) and click or whatever I'll reveal the lies I told while we smoke a blunt and bug out but while in the club I'm a lieing little snake lol

Omg I HATE that fucking question. I just tell them that I'm a waitress at another bar and that I'm saving up for school.
