    Default issues with the DJs

So, a couple of the DJs at the club I go to most often don't ever play music that I ask for. It's not an issue with the club being allowed to play that particular genre because several other girls dance to it with no issues and I've asked them to adjust it and told them specifically what I want several times and they play it for the first couple of sets then go back to playing me nonsense.

If it was music that actually made me money I wouldn't have an issue with it but usually it's either extremely lame or undanceable bad rock music that turns the crowd off. I'm always nice to them AND tip better than most of the girls in the club so I don't know why they won't play me music I want. I don't know if they forget what I dance to because I don't work as often as other girls or if it's for some other reason I can't figure out.

It's seriously starting to irritate me. How should I handle this? There are about 4 DJs that regularly work at the club and sadly the ones that fuck up my music work the most often. I'm playing with the idea of talking to management but I can't imagine this is the kind of thing they want to hear girls bitch about. I've never had this much trouble getting DJs to play me decent music. I'm running out of ideas. Sadly, avoiding these guy's shifts isn't an option because like I said, they work most often.

You may have to bite the bullet and talk with mgt.

That's easy... Don't tip his sorry ass anymore! I dealt with that at gold & stopped tipping all together bc they don't deserve my hard earned money when they barely even fuckin work. Ugh I HATE djs. You will get attitude after you stop tipping but hey *shrugs* wtfever dude they asked for it.

This is what I would do...

Before your set, write down what songs you want to dance to, hand it to them and tell them that you thought you'd make their job easier (by choosing your songs). If they don't do it, then don't tip. If they give you shit for not tipping, tell them that you only tip when your music is played and if they can't play what you want to dance to, then sorry, no tip.

I had the idea of not tipping anymore, what's he going to do, start playing me bad music? lmfao, talking to management and nicely asking them how they think I should handle this situation. Like I said, it would be one thing if I was actually getting tipped for it but dancing to music I hate PLUS not getting tipped for it sucks ass.

I thought about checking into my shift tonight and actually asking the DJ if I pissed them off and if not why they keep playing me that and won't play me things I want. I think I'm going to stick to making direct song requests before every set, and if that doesn't work stop tipping and talk to the manager.

    Thanks everyone!

IME it can even get worse, they can start skipping you altogether. I've had problems like this with DJ's so many times and sadly they have the upper hand.. you could try asking f you pissed him off, but I wouldn't go to management over that. It makes you look difficult and you wanna pick your battles.

I mean yeah, that's the reason I didn't want to go to management in the first place, I am on really good terms with them and don't want to mess it up by looking like a problem, I have been getting up there and grinning and bearing it as far as the music is concerned, I don't agree with throwing a fit onstage over a song I've always thought that looked like crap. Luckily, in this club they couldn't get away with skipping girls because they have a strict rotation they have to follow luckily haha but I've also worked at clubs with bullshit like that. I think I'm going to go with the requesting particular songs right before my set approach tonight and see how it works out.

Honestly girl you're best bet is to stand your own ground. You've done NOTHING wrong if you've been tipping him out more than the others as you say. He is the one that's being fucked up & expecting to get paid for a service he's not even delivering ugh. I wish i was there with you, I'd set that piece of shit straight LoL he would listen to me & if he didn't guess what.... I'll smile ,shake my ass & walk out laughing all the way to the bank. Seriously though I know it sux & ideally you'd wanna avoid drama but honestly standing up for yourself & asking nice the first time with a list of songs is cool but you prob already know dam well he's not gonna follow thru with his end of the obligation. I soooo don't miss the strip club politics ugh *eye roll*

At a club where the girls had each a dance card with preferred music that the djs kept in the booth. I had to straight take my card back and put a huge "do not play" list also on the cards. I kept getting kid Rock, nickleback, and pussy cat dolls... just no

Is making a dance card an option?

i don't understand some DJ's, like it's YOUR JOB to know which music is good. My DJ played such gems as 'the final countdown' and some kesha bullshit the other day. they are so out of touch sometimes and so entitled.
