    Default Industry Change

My first time back to the club was yesterday after years of being absent. DAMN. The industry has changed. I heard from the few girls that still worked their the entire time that they had to get second jobs to cover rent now, very few girls work, the days of guys waiting for dances from particular girls is gone, and there's little to no customers. I'm assuming this has to do with the change in people's beliefs that they'd rather have the real deal in the bed than a lap dance or people don't have the funds to spend like they used to.

I'm interested to hear how those who have seen this happen at their clubs have continued to be financially stable.

It's true things have changed but there is still money to be made.

It's not the gold age of being able to clear a million dollars & being a rockstar. It's a job now.

Stripping is my only job at the moment. I used to be able to get by on 2 shifts a week. Now it's more like 4-5. I've had to put in more time to develop a client base, which is actually pretty solid right now.

It's true. Not as many customers. A lot more competition. A lot more girls acting hungry and aggressive, offering extras, etc.

I'm so looking forward to bouncing out soon, honestly. There are still good days, but 10 years ago it was a different industry.

Yes it has changed. You can still build up a client base that will wait for you, but it's more high maintenance; texting or calling custys when you will be in, posting and sending pictures in Instagram or snapchat...A LOT more girls are self promoting, not only is it more work but it's changing the boundaries.
Stripping as always been an "outlaw profession" in that you gotta get the money and run. regulars are always temporary, and there is always money to be made. And you can make it clean!
I do find it's good mentally to have another job, money wise too....also avoids those resume gaps.

Check out the hustle hut, grab sales books and don't let these guys hustle you.

It's true, resume gaps have caused me more grief & drama than other dancers, stalker customers or lack of money. Having a "life on paper" these days is more crucial than it used to be because employers can Google/ Intelius you immediately.

Haha I overheard a customer asking another girl for her instagram. I do not get it. I want my personal life to be personal not deal with work after my shift ends.
A guy asked me for my phone number because he wanted to be my regular. I told him to check the roster. Not gonna lie, I'm not giving any of these guys out a phone number to contact me with again. They always seem to abuse the phone number and bother me for non work related things.

How far back are we talkin? Been stripping since 2011 and haven't noticed any significant change. I would never strip if I had to get a second job , not worth it

    It can vary regionally.

Also honestly for some the resume gap issues are too much to handle. I knew girls who bailed on stripping when they were forced with the possibility of getting stripping specific licenses (they show up on some background checks). The issue is how much risk someone is going to assume to have a window of cash-filled years. Different people want different things out of life....

    I agree!
I guess there are burner apps you can use. Still seems like a big mess.

No kidding, once upon a time I remember TX talking about making dancers wear their license with their name and address visible . Dumbest idea ever!

Haven't danced in well over a year now but when I quit I didn't look back. I found new ways to work my hustle on these guys in other ways now & couldn't be happier. I noticed a decline in the industry over the last 2-3 years before I finally quit bc I personally was just burnt out from everything it entailed such as having to look a certain way or worry about my weight, having to be on a stupid schedule, dealing with greedy asshole managers treating us like shit, etc.

When I first started in 02' things were def easier, like I'm talking where you go to the club & you didn't need regs (i never did) and always made great money to do whatever I wanted to. Girls have def become more cattier esp if you're in a slower type club bc they see ANYONE as competition & will step on toes to fuck with you. I am so glad I don't deal with that crap anymore ugh.
