    Default Shoe straps

Shoe trends come and go. I know some girls at my club feel that mules are the mark of a seasoned dancer, ankle straps are for baby strippers.

I know that ankle straps help with pole grip (no pole at this club)and keeping shoes on while tripping over manspreading drunks but does adding them on to mules really mark you as a noob?

I've got a pair of mules that I may need to add straps to or put an insole in because narrow af feet slide forward till my feet swell 4 hours into a shift.

    Ankle Straps, does it matter?

Ps clearly fixating on details I can control because there are so many things I can't ; like slow nights and customers not tipping "enough" to managers

I feel like those girls need something better to do with their time tbh. Most of my shoes have straps because I don't always work clubs with great lighting and nice even floors, and I fear having a flying shoe on stage.

I have literally never heard a custie mention straps vs strapless, and the vast majority of girls I work with (who are far from noobs) wear strappy heels.

Personally I also think strappy pleasers last longer than mules because there are multiple points bearing the weight of the shoe, rather than just the one with mules. Once that front part stretches on mules, they're over.

It's nice to be able to easily kick off mules during a long vip but other than that there aren't huge advantages to them. Some girls say ankle straps "chop" your legs and make them look shorter, but if you're wearing clear straps and the shoe is already over 6 inches that's not really a big deal.

I always thought girls just wore mules for ease of taking them off... most girls at my club dance barefoot on stage and even run around the floor barefoot a lot, I don't get it...

I always loved boots but stopped wearing them because I can't stand my leg sweating. I saw a girl use bandanas to hold on strapless shoes some time ago and have been doing this since. They feel as secure as a boot, easier to take off than a buckle imo and loads of people have complimented them.

I did kick a shoe off from the top of a pole once. Have been weary of them since. Thankfully the club was dead (why I was up there on the first place) so it didn't hit anyone and only one guy even noticed... **embarrassing

I only tend to get shoes 7-8" high also

I've been dancing almost 6 years and every pair of heels I've owned have straps. It's just what I'm comfortable in. I never even notice if other dancers heels have straps or not and customers definitely don't either. I had a customer say he could tell I wasn't new to dancing because I walk up and down the stairs in my club without holding onto the railing lol. If I had mules on I probably would hold onto something. Straps make me feel more secure and help me walk & dance comfortably.
