Default Bored of my look. Need advice <3

Hey everyone so I don't want to post a picture of myself but I'll try to explain how I look in the best way possible. I have dark brown hair and 18inch glue-in extensions, glue-ins are amazing personally lol. I have eyelash extensions and no need for any plastic surgery on my face. I have full lips, a small nose, and my eyes get compared to megan fox all of the time, or her in general actually. I want to eventually get my eyebrows microbladed but I'm not 100% on it yet.

I think I'm just bored with my look... I've definitely gained some weight since the beginning with dancing and school. So maybe my confidence is down because of that? Has anyone ever been in this position before? I feel like I need to lose like 20-30lbs and yet I'm trying to change everything else when maybe it's time to accept the fact that I've gained weight... ^.^

I eat 60% of the same things every day.
Breakfast: Grapefruit cup in light syrup
Coffee with tsp half and half and 1/2 tsp of sugar
    Lunch: Banana
    8 almonds
Dinner: Whatever I want, which usually is some sort of protein and vegetable.
Mung-bean and edamame noodles (I do have celiacs so no gluten)
    1/2 of a 1/2 a breast of organic chicken
    Organic pasta sauce

Everything I eat is always non-gmo and most of the time organic except for the grapefruit cups I get from costco. I don't know how else to adjust what I'm eating considering everything I eat is pretty healthy and I'm trying to not eat too many calories. I'm so frustrated lol.

ALSO I work out 5 times a week. I do the rowing machine for 100 calories, stepper for 200 calories and then some floor ab work.

I'm not on birth control anymore which caused me to gain weight in the past. The only thing I can think of is that I'm super busy and a bit burned out... so because of that I feel like I'm always tired. I sleep from 12am to 9:30/10am every day and go to class. When I work I get home at 3am, wake up at 10am.

    Help please I'm so desperate <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

weight loss depends on your body type(ectomorph, endomorph, mesomorph)
Grapefruit is very sweet has too much sugar!
To lose a weight you have to EAT and EAT alot.
    for example
brft:old fashioned oatmeal, berryes or fruit, nuts
second bf after 2 hours : protein such as 1 egg/ meat. but must be present some veggie.
lunch the biggest meal of the day : protein such as meat, some form of carb such as whole grain pasta and salad as much as you want.
send lunch egg white omelet and veggies
    dinner: protein and veggies
To lose a weight you have to eat and do HIIT or weight lifting rowing would not help, seriously!
I can write everything in grams and more explanatory but you can buy a program and professional person will write a program for you.

Yeah you definitely are not eating enough. You need more protein for sure and even more carbs. If you don't eat enough your metabolism slows way down and it'll be hard to lose weight since your body is always in starvation mode. I think if you keep eating healthy but eat more and do more intense workouts you'll see a change. HIIT cardio is what helped me lose 10 pounds (alternate 1 minute sprints & 1 minute walking for 20 minutes on treadmill).

If you're bored with your look why not dye your hair darker or get highlights? I get bored with my look sometimes too and it leads me to get blonder highlights or longer extensions. But I currently have 22 inch so I don't think I can go longer lol. I actually got my nipples pierced a few months ago because I was bored with my look lol so theres some little things you can do.

So, starvation mode is a myth.

The only reason it even persists is because of a very interesting study, which actually in itself disproves the starvation mode myth but has been interpreted very oddly for decades.

Men were put on a diet of extreme calorie deficit and after going into a weight loss plateau, because their calorie needs had become so low due to lack of activity and low body weight, they were given large meals of about 2x their calorie needs. Within a few days the men had actually lost weight, this is because their bodies had begun doing work internally that it had not had to do for a while, leading to an increase in calorie use.

This was not "starvation mode" as we know it. This was a body using more calories than it took in. Calories in, calories out.

Starvation mode can only be a reality if our organs do not use calories to do work. They do. Starvation mode is a myth based on a misunderstanding of anatomy and scientific research.

If calories in, calories out is not working, a food scale should be your first line of defense. If a food scale indicates that you are eating under your TDEE and you are not losing any weight, a legitimate medical professional should be your next line of defense.

The most affordable look refresh might be simple things like new makeup look or a new outfit.

If you are getting compared to Megan Fox, obviously you are doing something very right with your look.

If you want to lose weight, eat a whole, plant-based (vegan) diet. Meat and dairy are terrible for you, cause atheroscleorisis among a host of other health problems like cancer, and weight gain (don't believe me, just look all of this up for yourself). Learn how to eat to nourish yourself on a plant-based diet (if you aren't vegan, you will have to teach yourself how to do this, there are plenty of guides out there). And eat a hell of a lot more. You are not eating enough. What are your habits at work and school? Do you drink anything? Lattes? Soda? Alcohol? Cut all of those out except water or black coffee if you want it. A general rule of thumb is to find your TDEE (look it up online, there are calculators) and eat at a 20% deficit if you want to cut. If you want to build muscle, eat anything you want within your TDEE. Your TDEE will be higher than you think it is. This is how many calories you should be eating per day to stay healthy. For example, my TDEE is around 2200 calories as a 5'4" 130 lb mesomorph (I build and maintain muscle very easilly, so most of my weight is due to muscle). With a 20% deficit, that is around 1700 calories per day. Meaning, I can eat 1700 calories per day and be losing weight, including exercise.

Aside from diet and exercise, what about switching up your outfits and makeup?

You need to eat more. You need more fat, protein, fresh fruit, fresh vegetables and complex carbs in your diet. Here is an example of my meal plan.

Breakfast: Kashi Cereal with Vanilla Almond Milk. I add a cup of Fresh Blueberries and 1 Tablespoon of Whole Flax Seeds to this.

Lunch: Organic Lentil Soup, Multi-Grain Roll With Butter and Fresh Green Salad

Snack: Raw Fit Protein Shake (Mix Raw Fit Protein Powder, Chocolate Almond Milk, Peanut Butter Powder, and a Banana in a Blender)

Dinner: Grilled Chicken Kabobs, Quinoa Pilaf, and Sauteed Vegetables

Dessert: Small 4oz cup of Vanilla Greek Yogurt with Fresh Strawberries Mixed In

Beverages: Spring Water, Green Tea, Herbal Tea. To lose weight you need to be properly hydrated. Make sure you drink 1.5 - 2 liters of fresh water every day.

Idk I really don't think it's a myth. Someone who doesn't get in enough calories everyday will have a slower metabolism because the body slows down to conserve energy. If you eat enough then your body can work harder to burn calories for energy and thus your metabolism gets faster and you can lose more weight. I'm a Kinesiology major and we learned about it in school and it makes sense if you think about it. Maybe its the term 'starvation mode' that throws people off. It doesn't mean your body will literally keep you from starving because its obviously possible to die from starvation. But the fact your metabolism slows down when you don't get enough calories is still a real thing that happens in people who aren't dying from starvation. Like in the Minnesota study you're referring to.

But anyway the OP def isn't eating enough.

Ok everyone, I'd love for you to start researching the new news on good fats. FATS ARE YOUR FRIEND. I'm talking avocado, nuts, coconut oil, butter, ghee, full fat organic yogurt etc. If you aren't getting enough fats, you are going to burn through your food SO fast you will be wanting to eat and snack all day, to the point of over-eating. I NEVER EVER skimp on the fat... make sure to put olive oil in my soups and salads etc. I stay full for hours and am in the best shape of my life. People always ask me if I eat enough; I'm not underweight but definitely slim and athletic. If you want to go even deeper, start reading about the ketogenic diet. This is NOT the same as diabetic ketosis, which is bad for you and hard on the kidneys. This is a state where your body learns to burn fats instead of only carbs. It is also great for mood and hormone regulation. Google that shit.

The being scared of fat thing is SO 1980s. There is a ton of new research coming out saying that healthy fats are NOT the culprit in heart disease; REFINED CARBS are. Sadly, they are still heavily subsidized by the government and so it will be a long time before everyone gets the word and stops being afraid of healthy fats.

Ok, end rant OP, as others have said, you are definitelly not eating enough, and what you are eating is too heavy in carbs, which will leave your insulin levels spiking and then tanking. Not good for weight control at all. More protein, and yes, more fat

*EDIT: you can't just add a bunch of fat and continue to eat tons of refined carbs (sugar, pasta etc) and expect to lose weight. There is definitely an art and a balance to it. Lots of info on ruledme. keto. com etc

Adrienne7 is right on! Protein! Eat protein! Try to find out what your lean body mass is then match the grams of protien so if you have 100lbs of lbm then get 100 grams of protein. Break it up like 30g morning 15g mid day etc. add 8 servings of good fats avacado hard cheese olive oil. Vegetables all dark or purple. No fruit for a few weeks. I am really passionate about nutrition. I've helped a lot of my friends lose tons of weight. Try not to focus on starving or light food because that's just going to make your metabolism slow. Stay away from other carbs like bread rice fruit potatoes. Just think protein (meat) fats (good ones) vegetables (green or purple) do this for s month you'll be down 20 lbs then add back in berries cottage cheese colorful vegetables. Drink tons of water make sure you get potassium magnesium and salt! Good luck

Like the other posters said - Switch the dinner for breakfast, put the petrol in the engine before driving

maybe try honey in your coffee instead of sugar

Re your hair extensions maybe try an ombre or balayage to switch up your look. Boxing is a fun workout if you can fit in time, but already sounds like you are on the right track xx

Ditch the syrup fruit and eat a hearty breakfast of oatmeal and walnuts or eggs or even kale sautéed in coconut oil.include good fats, protein, and fiber and you can go longer between meals.
Everyone has covered nutruition but for exercise you need to do more weights and maybe even HIIT. If you do a lot of cardio at least get some good ankle weights or do incline.

I would say lighten your hair as well. I am not sure where you work but I always made more money as a blonde esp. in south Fla.

Yep this girls right it's called a kerogenic diet! It's not a fad diet or just for weight loss either this way of metabolic change has been used on cancer, Alzheimer's patients, as well as anyone with seizures. In fact pre-pharmaceutical therapy kerogenic diets were the only way doctors could help children with seizures back since the 1920's! So if your interested in doing this it's an amazing way to burn fat not muscle no skinny fat. Keep in mind you can reach a state of ketosis( where your body functions on ketones vs insulin) without losing weight! If your interested in doing it for weight loss however it's extremely effective. In Order to do this correctly you can achieve weight loss by monitoring fat intake. Funny enough what's considered a high fat diet is not what most would think! I'd say8-10 servings of fat a day for fast results in coordination with enough protien to match lean body mass and under 25 grams of net carbs. A serving of fat is 1/4 avacado 1tsp of mayo or ghee 1tsp heavy cream 1 oz of hard cheese. Not as much fat as you would think but still considered high! Also make sure your getting potassium magnesium and salt with this form of weight loss. One last thing you can use mtc oil (medium chain trhigliceride) to boost your speed to ketosis. This is the same thing as coconut oil with the long fatty acids removed. Look up bullet proof coffee.
