How many clubs make you pay at the door or can you pay at the end of the shift?
I usually pay at end of shift but some girls pay once they make house and some clubs require you to get at to dance up front.

I presume it's more normal to pay up front, like a fee to be allowed on the floor, but that there are clubs that do end of night when you would do tipout etc.
I think for organization it's just easiest to have dancers pay when they show up to work, rather than trying to find a manager or whoever you pay at the particular club mid-shift. Also some clubs use increasing house fees, so end of night doesn't work if you charge girls who came in at 11 more than those who came in at 9.

I prefer to get it out of the way and pay house upfront. I only worked at one club where you were required to pay upfront to be allowed on the floor. At the others, you could pay whenever you wanted as long as it was at least 2 hours before closing.

I've worked at places that have you pay when you check in, you pay your offstage fee at that time too. Other clubs I've worked at allowed you to work until the end of your shift and then you paid at tip out. One club would make you pay based on what time you turned your money in so if you came in at 7 pm and didn't pay until shift change they would charge you like if you came in at 11. Girls at a club I worked at in IL owed huge balances because there would be nights they didn't have money and didn't make their house fee which was a bad thing about not paying to go on the floor.
I would say it's more normal to pay when you walk in, however that leads to girls clocking in early (like at 7 pm) and taking FOREVER in the dressing room before actually getting on the floor somewhere around 10ish. A club I worked in Georgia had you pay based on what time you were ready, a manager was standing around near the DJ booth all the time to collect house fees. I liked that, because as a girl who liked to get there (and be on the floor) early, I hated going on stage 5-6 times before other girls got on the floor, even though we got there at the same time. This forced them to either get up and go on stage rotation, or pay extra house.

Most places have you pay at the end of the night but in Vegas they have you pay coming in. I worked one place that would take house fee out of your dances so the first few dances were "free".

Vegas is the only place I've worked that made you pay upfront. Everywhere else you could pay it during your shift or the end of the night when you're tipping out. Personally, I like to pay it as soon as I make it to get it out of the way and make it easier to keep track of what I've made.

One club I'm at we pay upfront after we're dressed. The other club they usually get it at the end of the night. I like to pay upfront to get it out the way and I can worry about my own earnings.
At the end of shift
“Cook for him like a housewife, fuck him good like a nympho….pay the rent and the car note, he invests in me like crypto”
So, Deja Vu just settled a class action lawsuit for $5.5 million that was largely over this issue. Before, their dancers could get a $20 discount on rent if they prepaid, but if you didnt make rent at the end of the night, you could leave with a negative balance. So basically, when you prepay in this fashion, you're betting on your earning potential. Most clubs I've worked at, you pay at the end. I prefer that arrangement just because slow days are hyper-stressful if you prepay.
I have worked in many cities, and the vast majority of clubs I've worked in share the same rule: You are required you pay up front, usually to the cashier at the door, before you are eligible to begin your shift. If your overhead costs involve tipping staff members, that is usually done either at the end of the shift or right after you earn money, due to a staff member who helped you.
