    Default Preparing body for dancing

I am 35 and looking to get back into dancing. I danced between 21-23 and got back into Camming. On cam I get up and move on occasion but nothing like dancing.
I have a petite body type at 5'3 and 98 lbs. I by no means need to lose weight but know how taxing dancing can be on the body and if I don't prepare I am going to be sore and hating life for a few months. I'd like to gain weight but eh, the diet I would have to eat to do so is against the clean eating routine I try and follow. I am also acne prone (another thing I am working on.
I cannot do much cardio because I do not want to lose weight. I am thinking a combination of yoga, and some body weight and light weightlifting /strength training. It is mot enough time, but I have about a month until I begin auditioning.

Guess it depends on the type of place you audition for - stage mainly or lap hopping Squats may help and yoga as you mentioned for flexibility, think its good to check out the clubs before you audition to see the kind of moves expected. Good luck x

Most clubs in Vegas have so many girls you hit the stage once or twice a night. Lap hopping all the way and honestly at first I'd probably buy off stage, not because I can't perform but to get back in the groove with less nerves and pressure.

How about pole classes? I can't find a thread on this but I'm sure there is. But how long did you ladies take pole classes if you did before you auditioned at your first club? I took my first beginner class, walked in super cocky because I'm skinny and somewhat flexible, and felt like a dumbass when trying to do basic spins and climbs lol.
