    Default Cocktail waitress...

Man, I really hate making new boards. I always feel like I'm in the wrong.

Tomorrow I'm going to inquire in person about waitress positions at the two clubs in my area because I cannot reach anyone when I call.
I do want to dance eventually, buy I'd really like to get a better feel for the clubs first. And...Actually learn to dance. I took ballet when I was young but that is the extent of my experience.
I have already started watching videos and trying to become more physically active and fit. But I know I am not ready yet.

I just have a couple questions I can not seem to find answers for.
What should I wear for this?
I do not have serving experience, but I have worked in customer service since I turned 16 ( 6 years now). And I also have 3 years of management experience.
I figured I can bring in my resume and highlight my ability to speak to anyone...
but if I plan to dance, should I go ahead and request to be called what I would dance under if anything was to go forward?
In my area it's a little weird... I've seen some of the strippers post on the FB pages for the clubs with their real names and strip names in parentheses like
Linda Smith (honeybear). It's just strange.
I want to make sure I'm setting myself up for success.

It's much, much harder to get a job as a cocktail waitress or hostess in a club than it is to get a job as a dancer. Are you friends with anyone working there? Are they currently hiring waitresses? Without serving experience, the odds are not in your favor...

If you feel up to dancing, that's where I'd start. The money is usually much better, it's an easier and faster hiring process, and you'll have more time to get up to speed at your own pace. Jumping into serving as a waitress with no prior experience is fairly stressful, I'd imagine. And most cocktail waitresses put up with a similar amount of shit from customers and wear similarly skimpy clothes compared to dancers...

Just my quick thoughts on mobile! ♡

I know its much easier to start as a dancer. But I'm fairly positive I'd just embarrass myself.
I still need to do a bit of practice. A lot really...

I do not know anyone in my clubs sadly.
But I had to leave my current job due to my boss (local owned under the table crap) molesting me just about every day and degrading me every time he paid me. Always telling how much he hated "supporting me and my family" as if I hadn't actually worked for my check.
I was trying to get in shape and ready to dance so I could have it lined up when I quit. But he went to far recently... And I had to drop it all together. So I'm trying g to get into a club a lot faster than I had planned. And I really do not think I can dance yet. So thought waitress may be a way to start connecting with what my end goal is.

^Yeah, it's tough to get hired as a waitress.

Most clubs are used to weird newbie dancing. As long as you're pretty, decently in shape, can apply makeup, and have an appropriately sexy outfit... dancing is something 99.9% of us picked up on the job. Start at a dive or mid - tier if you're truly worried.. just trust me that dancing is the last thing to worry about. You'll pick it up quickly! And guys love awkward newbs!!

I was a literal spaz when I started stripping. Like... So. Bad.

(I'm sorry about your last job )

Honestly I'd say it might be easier getting that gig than a dancer. They mostly want thin tanorexic looking dancers & yes hot cocktail waitresses but from the ones I've seen aren't usually all that so I'd say just try it. As far as experience, just lie & say you had a job at (name of restaurant) in some distant state or city. Learning drink aren't that hard. Just have a friend lie for you if they want references & say that you worked for a private escorting service serving drinks to clients. I doubt they'll check into it much. When going in to inquire about the job, dress kinda slutty but classy.

And one last thing: Fake it til you make it baby Being honest constantly never gets anyone anywhere in this business in terms of getting hired, etc. You'll end up never getting in if you don't fib a little at least. Just make something up & have it well rehearsed when you go in. Good luck <3

Just go to the club and ask about waitress job, have hair and makeup done and wear tight fitting clothes. Goodluck it is easy and your probably be ready to dance soon when you see how much easier it is to make money.

In your city, you have a better chance of getting a non-stripping job than you would if you were trying to waitress in a city like Las Vegas or Denver, IMO. Give it a shot! I'd try giving them a call beforehand, but that's just me.

It's a strip club. Nude dancers. The waitress wear either tight dresses or lingerie. But I was still trying to be semi dressed to apply :p

I walked in the first club tonight and said I wanted to see about applying. The girl just looked at me and told me they were not accepting any applications.
The second club (and only other in my area)
    there was no one there.
There was what I assume was a bouncer and one stripper sitting at the bar. The bouncer asked when I walked in "does she work here? ' the stripper and I both said no.
He said unless I was here to see some one he was going g to need to see some ID and the stripper yelled "or some titty!" Hahah.
Anyway I grabbed my Id and I told him I was interested in applying for a server job. He told me I'd need to talk to the lady at the end of the bar.
She kind of looked at me...Didn't really say anything and got me an application.
The bouncer was nice, asked if I had enough light to fill it out and I smiled and told him yes.
When I brought her back the application she just took it from me. I asked if there was anything else she would need from me and she responded "no."
So I told her to have a great night and smiled.
I saw her just slide my application away. So I'm assuming unless I bug, I will never hear a word.

I wonder if it is worth it for me to drive the hour and a half to Columbia and check around there?

Honestly I'd say fuck it & just get into camming or pso work. At least then you'd be hired right away & could start making money. Fuuuck the headache of applications & snooty behavior from staff *eye roll*

Sorry that happened to you. Only drive that far if you were going to dance. Its not worth it to waitress. I miss my old club that is 2 hours away but its too far so now I work at shitty clubs here which I hate. But you will spend too much time and money going that far.
