Lightbulb how to set up an audition

I was wondering if anyone has an opinion on if its better to call the club directly about auditions or fill out the online form that i'm running into on websites. When I danced in a smaller town I just called but now I am in the big city so I wonder what your experience has been. Thanks!

    The online forms are worthless.

Always call and ask when you can come in for an audition. The website might list audition times, but you'll want to call to make sure a hiring manager will be in when you go. Most clubs have multiple shifts. So specify on the phone which shift you'd like to audition for. At worst, they'll tell you that newbies have to start on day shift, but that's good info. These calls are usually pretty fast and cold... you may feel a bit blown off by how gruff they sound on the phone. They're usually pretty busy - answering the phone isn't high on the priority list for them. So keep your side short and sweet. "Hello, I'm looking to audition for your night shift as a dancer. When should I come in to audition?" Be cordial, but they usually don't give a shit about your name and won't remember the call. Try not to judge the place if they sound rushed.

But yeah. Online forms? I truly don't know why some sites have those. Maybe to make themselves seem professional? You'll basically never get a response from filling one out.
