Have you ever worked in the adult entertainment field or are you a total newbie? You might want to go to a strip club and check out the atmosphere and dancers. Some clubs have amateur night and you can try that if you want to. If you're an amateur the guys won't care if you can't do advanced pole tricks and such. They're just there to see titties. If having a drink helps you relax then do it. Just don't overdo it with alcohol.
I have social anxiety/very shy but still worked as a dancer. I know my first night I was so nervous that I chickened out when my stage name was called for me to go up and went to the dressing room and hid there. I got lucky that one of the veteran strippers took me under her wing. She practiced with me in a dark corner of the club with a pole. None of the customers paid much attention. When I did get on stage first time I was a bit tipsy/buzzed but I had worked as a webcam model so that helped and the fact that I have bad eyes and didn't have my eyeglasses on. The customers looked like blobs to me without my glasses helped a lot because I couldn't see if they were staring at me or not. If there are pole dance classes where you are, I suggest you take one first. That can help you get more comfortable.

Best advice I give to everyone: a gym membership and plastic surgery.

Oh how i would love plastic surgery, cant afford it without a very good paying job though lol
This was me. Severe social anxiety. I drove to a couple clubs wasted money I didnt have to sit in a parking lot, have a panic attack and leave lol. What worked for me was doing a lot of research on the club, what to expect, etc. Then I had my friend drive with me, and in the parking lot she spent 30 minutes to convince me to go in. From that point you just fake a smile. I'd start at a smaller club. Less pressure.
Will power! Everytime you put yourself out there you will get better at it and more comfortable.
You can do it! Opportunity for self growth
Yeah i feel like that would be me, driving there a bunch of times before i actually go in. I would love for my friend to go check out some clubs with me but unfortunetly she is uncomfortable with strip clubs, so i have to do the whole process on my own... but i guess once i muster up the courage and stop being so nervous ill be able to try it out
You can do it! You will be very proud of yourself once you go in and audition. Remember to smile and take in the experience! It is normal to have some nerves, but do remember why you want to dance and think about all of the money that can be made.

I'm shy but I really needed money so I just did it. I went by myself for amateur night and it was my first time ever in a strip club. I was watching the other dancers while waiting for the contest to start and was freaking out and told them I needed to go home to practice and I'd come back next week. The bouncer somehow convinced me to enter the contest anyway... it was over so fast and I was hired on the spot. You just need to get it over with, maybe try to go on like a Mon night when it'd be less busy and try to work some less busy shifts to get used to it. With time and practice you'll gain more confidence.

I'm shy. When I started out, I had crippling social anxiety, but I was professional and made sure I looked nice when I went to the club to apply for a job. I worked as a waitress first, and I'm glad I did, because it helped me feel more familiar with the club and the staff. Eventually, I auditioned to be a stripper, and somehow made the cut. "Fake it until you make it" is the reality of getting used to a performance role like this. Stripping is not a job that anyone comes in prepared for... so just know that everyone else went through the same thing, when they were new. You're probably going to have anxiety, you're probably going to make a few "mistakes," but you'll also make money and learn a lot.
I'm sure you'll do great! <3
