Default Retuning Your Body//Addicted to Junk Food

These past few days I have been eating horribly (it is carnival season down here so food and things that wouldn't normally be available now are). Even before that my eating habits weren't the best (ie I'd eat something, not be full and still end up at McDonalds). I'm trying to stop this so that I can get my health/appearance/diet/sanity back (part of the goal with that is making sure I'm skinny enough to try out for clubs). If I start this lifestyle NOW then by September I should be fit enough to join clubs and/or agencies (even if it means I can only work for the agency when classes aren't studying).

But in order to do this I have to retune my body and get it off junk food. How do you do this? What are some good snacks to eat for that odd trip to the corner store that will still fill me while I'm eyeing slushies and chips?

whole 30! it wont be fun for the first week but it will develop better habit and get you craving healthy food after!
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

It's as simple as just making the choice. Get in the mindset that this is a lifestyle change and commit to it.

I eat a lot of vegetarian diet of avocados, salads, almond bars, sandwiches, greek yogurt (Fage acai one is great. 120 calories, 13 g protein, and O fat and it is rich, almost like blueberry cheesecake). Kind bars are sort of my treat, but they are also good for you. Once you switch over to a healthier diet, you'll feel so good you'll WANT to eat healthy all the time.

Fruit or avocado helps me with cravings. It gives you sugar and fat in a healthy form... and avocado makes everything else delicious.

Junk food is addicting because it feeds into our cravings for sugar and fat, so it helps to satisfy your those cravings with healthier foods. Hummus and pita, for example, is healthy and hits those marks (hummus=healthy fat, bread=carb, rather than refined sugar).

I think it's best to make small changes over time, rather than overhauling everything. Diets are notoriously hard to stick to. You can lose weight by eating food that tastes good, you just need to make some healthy tweaks, and eat smaller portions. Also, light exercise like walking is easy to do and the burned calories add up when you do it on a regular basis.

I try to cut back on McDonald's and eat more Panera Bread. After being away from junk food for a while it doesn't taste as good anymore. I also use a food journal app. Good luck.

Yeah. I do that myfitnesspal is pretty good as far as food journal. I've been considering going premium lately

Foods with fiber and Protein will keep you feeling fuller longer. Stay away from food with high sugar (especially white processed sugar) and unhealthy carbs (like fries, donuts, etc).

Eat healthy snacks (carrot chips, grapes, apples, turkey cubes, almonds, etc) throughout the day to keep from succumbing to hunger cravings.

If you do give into your cravings just do very small portions.

Also keep staying up to date with and learning about nutrition. I have a monthly magazine subscription that gives pointers on choosing healthy foods and pictures of various exercises

Just take it one day at a time - and reward yourself when you make healthier choices
