Aghh. STORYTIME.
So I have danced before, but I started working as a shotgirl at a new club. Last night I had a terrible experience with one of the "managers," and I need to rant because well..I do lol.
So this woman is technically part of the management team, but she also can sell rooms and bartend. Last night she waved me over to the couch area. We talked for a little while, and her custy gave her money to buy the rest of the shots on my tray (shots she drank! btw). So of course, I'm like sweet, we'll team up and kill it together. Like I said, I have danced before so I already planned on giving her a tip out for the help. So after that, I wait on her for an hour to remake me a set of shots because she "knew how to make them better" than the other bartender. So fast forward to the end of the night, I'm at the bar paying for my last tray and talking with a custy. She comes up and tells me "I need all my money back." And I'm like, whoa what, I'm not giving you "all" your money back for shots YOU and your custy drank. And she is like, I didn't give you money so you could "not work." Um excuse me ma, I am not the one, no ma'am. Keep in mind, the custy I'm with is witnessing all of this. So, I gave her an extremely generous tip out to avoid any further drama. I am talking wayyyy upwards of the average 15%. So I go back to the dressing room to change, and she comes storming back there telling me I need to give her money. I'm like, girlllllllll I just gave you money at the bar. So I start to head out and she yells at the bouncer to not let me leave. Long story short, I walked back to the bar and there the money is sitting next to the tip jar, and I'm like this biiiiiiiiitch. The custy came up to me and actually went and vouched for me that I gave her the money. But she's still there talking mad shit, acting some type of way. Like, "if I wasn't a manager...blah blah blah."
And I'm like, she literally has the money in her hand. I'm not paying her back in full because the shots are gone AND the club takes around 70% of my shot money anyways! It was AMAZING how quick her personality shifted. I have seen some pissed off dancers, but I have never seen this, like someone flipped a switch. Needless to say, I'm not going back.
Sorry for the long post. I didn't have any trouble like this as a dancer, so I'm just frustrated. Lesson learned. I can't even trust management to be decent. Has anyone been a shot girl and had a worse time than dancing? Any of you guys ever dealt with crazy, manipulative management??
