    Default Scars/tattoo cover

Do any of you ladies have scars on your body? I have a shit ton of scars all over my arms. I don't even know what is causing them, I probably have some sort of autoimmune skin problem. It's annoying, because people probably assume I have drug problems, when I've never touched anything harder than psychedelics. Do you know of any good heavy concealer/tattoo cover to hide how fucked up my skin is? Thanks!

I have heard Dermablend works well. I am going to try it for stretchmarks!

    Bumping.

The following combo works WONDERS. Liquid/waterproof eyebrow corrector (make up forever is my go-to), followed by foundation, setting powder, then ben nye final seal. This will cover your tattoos/scars beautifully and will last ALL night - even if you're sweating bullets!

Get yourself some Dermacol foundation girl. It really does the trick!! It covered my tattoo in 2 layers, and some scarring perfectly in just one layer.

    Bumping with a few questions.

I understand Dermablend and Dermacol are both supposed to go on in thin layers until the desired coverage is achieved. But do either of them stay on for the full shift, or do they require touchups? Are they sweatproof? Will they rub off on the customers or on the pole? Does anyone know how either of them compare to Kat Von D's brand?

I have a tattoo on my right flank, between hip and ribcage, that I think will be easy enough to cover with makeup. One of my financial goals is to save up until I can get new ink to cover it for good. But I sweat a lot, and pole work is a huge part of my stage show. Since quality body makeup seems to be pricey, I would like to know more about how to keep it in place during work before I make the investment.

The Sephora product that was linked above -- does it also hold up with a lot of pole work?

For sure Dermablend, it’s pricey but totally worth it. I have a not quite fully lasered off tattoo on my arm that I cover up pretty much every day. I buy the larger bottle that’s meant for full body, followed by Kat Von D pressed powder (it takes some experimentation to get the color blends right with your skin), then use a makeup setting spray. Works great.

Dermablend has worked alright for me. The biggest scar I have is on my neck.. it doesn't make me look deformed or anything, but it's noticeable. The dermablend won't cover it up entirely, but, using a method like what jadey described, it mitigates it substantially. On a normal day, I don't do anything to cover it. Weird as it may sound, I really don't have any desire to get rid of it. I earned that scar, and it's going to stay with me until the end of time. Anyhow, I'll try to get some before and after photos to post on here for you, if I can remember to... I've been kinda absent-minded this week, and I'm not sure why.

Where it's really useful.. at my straight job, I work with heavy machinery, I work with tools, I work with cutting torches and welders sometimes, and sometimes you get little nicks and cuts from doing that, and that's where the dermablend really comes through.

Tattoos, I can't really say anything about. I want one, but I'm too chickenshit to get one, so I have none, and I'm not really sure if I would cover them up if I did have any. I wouldn't be the one to get, say, a full sleeve or anything of that sort, and there are plenty of dancers who have visible tattoos. If it's something small and generally considered tasteful, I probably wouldn't worry about it too much. Now if you have a large back piece with something like Mephistopheles and "Hail Satan" or whatever, yeah, something like that would probably be a little detrimental to you.

Haha No, nothing extreme! It's a fairly simple design, it was a small memorial tattoo for an ex of mine ... whom I found out years after the fact had my replacements lined up (if not already auditioned) when he broke up with me. I was so disgusted when I learnt about it that I just want to get it covered, but don't really care to have it showing while dancing until then.

That's a big apprehension of mine about getting a tattoo, that I'd end up regretting it after the fact. I never even got my ears pierced until I was almost 25, so I don't really see myself going under the needle anytime soon.

I don't see why it wouldn't cover a tattoo, though, especially using the method given. I don't use Kat Von D brand, but that's just personal preference.

Keep it small and simple (at least for the first one haha), and give it a good long amount of thought. Part of my problem was that I was going on emotions when I got that particular bit of ink done, rather than giving it the consideration it deserved. Also, you don't know what you don't know, right? So, stay away from ex-related ink of any kind!

I think either of these brands will initially cover well, but I am worried about how well they would stay, especially if there is a possibility of rubbing-off on other people. I would feel really bad about it staining someone's clothes.

Oh... should I hold off on my plans for having this done, then?

    I joke, I joke.
Actually, can you imagine what it would be like for a guy who bought a dance, just to end up with that thing to be staring at him?
"Umm, well... it has tits... but I'm still not sure how I'm supposed to feel about this...."
I bet that would be an awkward boner!
I kill myself sometimes. I should remember to list that as a perk of dating me - "I laugh at my own jokes - so YOU don't have to!"
I know I'm a dork. And shamelessly so.

As far as I can tell, it seems to have held up pretty well for me, and I do a lot of pole work when I'm on stage (with 10 years of acrobatic pole dancing to my claim, I kinda have to). I suppose you could always try it... get an old shirt you're not going to wear and put it to the test.

^^^^ Posts like this make me wish there was a Laugh button alongside the Thanks and Report buttons. You were cracking me up, fellow dork! I am stealing that 'I laugh at my own jokes' line.

That's a good idea though, the spot clothing test. *Derp*

I have my moments. Some days, I make people laugh. Others, they just scratch their heads and ask me, "What the fuck is wrong with you?". It happens more than I like to admit.

I don't really have anything major going on.. the scar on my neck held up well, but I haven't really applied it anywhere else tonight, and I don't want to be snapping photos while everyone is changing. I'll try the before/after photos another time.

Most girls swear by Dermablend and Kat Von D. They don't do the job well and I threw them out. I covered a girls tattoo completely with Estee Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover Camouflage Makeup for Face and Body. It is AMAZINGGG! I don't have tattoos but I was trying to prove to her how amazing it works.

I got to try out Kat Von D today.

The guy tried the foundation by itself first, then two different colour correctors, and successfully covered a small part of the middle (gold) but the rest of the ink is blue and green and they were having none of that upstart coverage nonsense. At first it looked like the blue and green would be concealable with a few layers of makeup, but even when he tried a thickish spray cover, the offending colours seemed to pop through even more boldly. They were practically mocking us!

It was explained to me that KvD and Dermablend are both formulated specifically to cover black/grey.
