Default Which would be better to start at for a new dancer? (Club Types)

I am looking at going to one of the clubs in my area soon and trying to get an audition. I have a question I would like to ask first to some of the experienced dancers before I make a mistake. The club that I really WANT to work at is a gown club/upscale gentleman's club. This is the only really nice, upscale club in my area which is why I am coming here for advice first. My question is since I am new, should I go to more of a dive club and work there a few weeks to a month or so until I know what I am doing and then go to the upscale club and audition? I am concerned that since I have no pole experience and have not danced on stage before that I will not get the job at the upscale club if I go in and audition being new to this. Is it better to start at a dive club or somewhere more in the middle rather than a high end club? Where did you all start at? This is why I wanted to come on here and ask. Have any of you went straight into really nice upscale clubs and got the job being completely new to dancing? Do they hire girls that have never danced before at high end clubs? Do dancers typically start at dive clubs or smaller less crowded clubs and then as they get more experience work at nicer, more crowded clubs? How does that work? I really want to work at this place so I would appreciate any advice on this question. I don't mind working at another club for a month or so and then going to the club I want to work at if it will increase my chances of getting hired there. I am thinking long-term here. The high-end club more than likely has the best money making potential out of the clubs in my area so if I have to spend a month not making much of anything just to get experience so that I can audition well when I go in there and apply I am willing to do that. I just don't know if it's necessary which is what I am hoping you all can help me out with. I guess what I mainly want to know is can you be brand new to dancing and start at an upscale club? Is it unusual to do this? I think my look definitely goes more with what an upscale club is looking for. I'm 23 years old, thin, about 5'6, have a nice body, and am pretty. I also have no tattoos and the only piercing I have are my ears. If location matters, I am in South Carolina. I'm not in Columbia, Charleston, Greenville, or any of the larger cities. I'm in an area that's not as populated as those.

***Also I know the best money-making clubs are not always the high end clubs. However in my area, this club just so happens to be the busiest club, has the best reviews, and seems to always have a lot of customers there. This is why I say I think this club has the best money-making potential.***

I'd recommend shooting for the best club you can and working your way down from there. The worst thing that happens is you don't get in, then just try at the next nicest place.

If it's an upscale club your lack of pole tricks won't matter at all since most girls there won't do them- other than basic flowy spins, pole tricks look silly in a dress.

They may tell you to come back once you have more experience if you fit the look they want. Some may hire new dancers, some may not.

You're better off starting at a busy club if you aren't intimidated so you can make hustle mistakes (which you will) and still have other customers to move along to. In an empty club if you mess up a sale with the one or two good clients that came in that night, you might not get another shot. Starting in a dive is sometimes a bad idea too because rather than picking up experience you might just pick up bad habits. Being a prettier girl in a dive gives you the opportunity to get lazy.

I started at an upscale club. Start at the top. Just make sure you go in with a positive attitude. That's what got me hired, bc I was awful onstage, but at least I smiled my way through it.

Either way you go YOUR NEW. With that being said, start at the best club.
