    Smiley Vegas Vacation Recommendations

I'm going to Vegas this July for the first time. I'm looking for multiple recommendations:

-Hotel (upscale please, not a young party crowd, specific room/suite would be great!)
-things to do (during day and night)
-Dancewear stores (I need more work outfits!)
    -Your awesome 2cents!

    Thanks Ladies!

the wynn is upscale and on the strip with a popular club downstairs but tends to be quieter than other places like cosmo. always seemed popular w/businessmen, nice pool but no obnoxious day club that i'm aware of. dancewear stores: there are shops in most clubs called showgirl supplies but theres a bigger one on industrial rd (next to sapphires) that is just a stand alone store. when i lived there i bought nearly all my outfits and shoes either there or online. the store inside hustler club is ok too, i think theres also a dejavu one.

not sure about things to do cause there is so much and idk what you're interested in or looking for but you should visit downtown/old LV at some point. i feel like a lot of people totally miss out on that and just stay on the strip their whole trip

Yes, we were looking at the Wynn! But we thought it might be a tad out of the way. We started looking at the Belaggio too. Does anybody know if that's comparable?

I was going to suggest the Wynn or Wynn Encore ( are there still two ? ).

The encore spa is one of my best of all time spa experiences and I only did the day pass ! The whole place was so luxurious.

Wynn, Bellagio, Venetian, are all top of the line 5 star....Ive never stayed at Cosmo, but I hear that is very nice as well... In general, you wont get the young party crowd at these places, they all have clubs, but these resorts are so big, you don't have to go anywhere near them. They all also have upscale ultra lounges.. These are not clubs, but great places to chill and have some cocktails...Cosmo has the Chandelier(3 story lounge inside a chandelier) Next door at the Mandarin has a rooftop lounge that is nice.

Not sure what you are into for fun, if you are more specific I'm sure everyone could help you better. During the day, hang out a the pool at any of these places.....

I love love love the English themed pubs all over Vegas (there's several & the insides are done in an early 1980s restaurant/nautical theme.) Incredible food for cheap.

Anybody have feedback about the Aria or Cosmo? Which would u choose? The Wynn was just too far out of the way. I liked the Bellagio (but a smaller hotel might be nice and my guy wasn't too into it).

Cosmo was originally built to be condos, but the housing crash in 2008 caused them to change to hotel....so I think many of the rooms are like condos, with balcony, kitchen, etc....

Aria I think is just a normal(very nice) hotel....

for what you are looking for, I would choose from Cosmo, Venetian, Wynn, Aria, Bellagio........there is not a bad decision in the bunch.

My wife and I go out a couple times a year, I want to try Cosmo next, but we keep going back to Venetian...The room service is from the Grand Lux Café, which is a Wolfgang Puck restaurant, we have all our breakfasts in bed there.....plus the pool is nice.

I go to Vegas several times a year on business....the Aria is my favorite. High end hotel, with great restaurants..the crowd in general,at hotel will be more upscale.

I was on Priceline the other day & saw the Venetian has suites going for the cost of a room at the other 4/5 star hotels. We were looking in June but I bet July will be even cheaper if it's not a convention weekend. Give that a look!

What are you guys into as far as things to do? For touristy stuff on the strip, I really like the Shark Reef Aquarium. Fremont Street is fun & has cheap gambling. My favorite though is a restaurant a few miles off the strip; Hash House A-Go-Go. It's a bit of the hippie Portland sort of vibe but the food is great and the portions are huge, it's awesome for brunch.

I know I'm late in the game with this thread but my favorite places to stay in Vegas are Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood, and The Venetian. Caesars has the best shopping, PH has the best entertainment (Britney Spears!), and The Venetian is just gorgeous and posh but fun and upbeat at the same time. I love going to Tao and Lavo whenever I go to Vegas (unfortunately it's been a while)

The Venetian is a really nice all suites hotel. I would recommend it.

There is a Hash House a Go Go in the Plaza Hotel at the end of Fremenot street now too, not sure if that was the one you were referring to.

The only upscale hotel I went to in Vegas was the Venetian. It's beautiful and located near everything. I spent most of my time at day partys and eating out and shows. But I also went alone so I went trying to make friends.

Between those two, I would say Cosmo because they have the club, "Marquee" which is very hot right now at the moment. Aria is ok, I stayed there once, but I was not totally impressed even though it is a very high end hotel. "Jewel" nightclub is so so. I would pick Cosmo between the two, but the first choice I have is Wynn.

I did not know that was there! I had friends living in Vegas and they always wanted to stay far away from the strip so we just went to the other one.

^yes hash house is awesome for brunch. there's a few. i believe one at the linq, one downtown, and i lived near one a bit of a ways off the strip down sahara. maybe theres more idk.

my FAVE place to chill is the peppermill. best bloody marys and a super cool old school loungey atmosphere with an inside fire pit. their food and dining area is meh though. also for things to do theres a shooting range over by sapphires, i know a lot of people who say that's really fun but i never went. there's also a place called 'hangover heaven' i always wanted to try where they give you an IV of vitamins and fluids after a night out lol (but it's expensive)

^^^ a friend of mine worked at the peppermill for years until recently and I'd always go there o my trips. Very common to run into vegas celebs there too. Met Penn from Penn and Teller there once and my friend said he is a regular there. It is a nice place to chill on the strip.

the only difference between ingesting vitamins and liquids and having an IV with them is about 30 minutes to an hour depending on your metabolism. Have your concoction ready at your hotel before you go out, then its there in the morning when you wake up. bottle of water...another bottle of water, and a 5 hour energy. Drink one bottle before you go to bed, then drink the other and the 5 hour when you wake up. maybe a protein bar if you have some stomach issues. Everyone is different, but that one works for me.

by the way, there is also a Hash House in Rio....

but you cant beat the Grand Lux in the venetian for breakfast.

Just did the HHAGG at the Rio Tuesday. Huge portions. I had the mushroom/sundried tomato/spinach/artichoke mash. Place was quiet.

Agree regarding Grand Luxe at the Venetian. Another great option.

I'm also going to vegas in July to see MARIAH with my friend who is retired and a nurse now!!! I'm going early in the week, like sun-wed, we don't gamble AT ALL and good pools are a big priority for me. Stayed at Mandalay last time but there were too many kids b/c of their stupid wave... Thinking Caesar's Palace because the pools are beautiful and they have adults only pools and its cheap without being "cheap". We are not gonna club- we don't care about that. We're gonna eat beautiful food, lay out, drink sparkling wine... That sort of tip. Any suggestions for things to do or other hotels to consider that have very good pools... Definitely gonna go to the pepper mill! And fremont street! This thread is right in time

If you don't mind slightly off strip I have a couple of suggestions. Both are really no further than Mandalay Bay in terms of being somewhat away from the Strip action. I just stayed at the Rio as mentioned. Their drink prices at the pool are reasonable compared to some of the other places. Definitely get the Souvenir Cup if one of the mixed drinks appeals to you. They have an Adults only pool that opened at 11 AM each day. Live DJ on Thurs-Sunday.

Past couple of years I mostly stayed diagonally across the street at Palms. Really nice pool. Few kids. More of the "beautiful people". Drink prices are easily 25% more than at the Rio.

Mariah's show was good. Saw her about a year ago.

So we are booked for a Wraparound Terrace Suite (facing the fountains and strip) at the Cosmopolitan. It looked like a nice room with a balcony (idk how much we will use it in summer, but still a plus). I hope it's a good mix of chill/upscale/but not too boring. Added bonus, one of their pools is topless during the week during summer. We are going for the fights but will catch the MJ Cirque show, helicopter over Grand Canyon, he wants to race cars, and then we will try some of the places that everybody mentioned here. Thanks for the info, and more is welcome! I will keep u posted on our experience!

    NICE!

Since you are at the Cosmo already, try the Chandelier. Might be the upscale, chill, but not too boring you are looking for.

I'm heading out there tomorrow for a long weekend. Staying at the Venetian...got a cabana for the pool on Saturday. We always hit downtown for a day or night, and plan on hitting a strip club as well. Not sure which one, any recommendations for a strip club for 3 couples?

Second the chandelier! Selfie Heaven. Also they have a Milos at the Cosmo which is a MTL restaurant and is easily the best restaurant I've ever been to even though my customers have taken me to some crazy french places.

Just got back.....great time. Spent quite a bit of time at Cosmo, very nice, walked around Aria during the day as well, lots of interesting places to grab a drink. If you like crab legs, got to Joes in Caesars,(everything else was average, but the crab legs were fantastic) We stayed at Venetian and it was great as always, had a bunch of meals there, one I enjoyed most was Otto's...more casual Italian place in the canal shoppes. Spent one day at the pool...got a cabana which is nice if you are going to be there all day, gets you out of the 104 temp for a little bit. If its just the 2 of you, you can rent a day bed. Went to downtown (freemont street experience) which is completely different from the strip, definitely NOT upscale but a lot of fun...live bands, ziplines over the street, and some cool old timey speakeasys(the Downtown cocktail bar was cool.)

That is about all I can remember........with any clarity.....
