Ok i worked my first shift last night and my legs are so bruised. There was a thread about protecting your knees and what to do for the bruises. Can anyone link it or help me locate it? I did a search but not finding what im looking for.

wear knee pads or thigh highs and use arnica.

Seconding leg warmers and arnica gel. These 2 things have saved my knees. Also, glucosamine sulfate pills (along with Chondroitin, MSM, and Omega-3) to maintain/ rebuild cartilage.

Thanks ladies for responding so quickly. Today my legs look much better. I didn't work last night i felt i should give them a little break. I plan on working Saturday night so i will be looking into your suggestions before my shift. I guess i need to learn other dances besides twerkin on the floor lol.

Your knees will probably bruise up again next time you work. It will take about 3-4 months for your body to get used to it, and then you'll bruise significantly less.
But, you might have to deal with minor bruising even after the adjustment period, depending on your body. I have been dancing 3+ years and I still get bruises, however the bruises aren't deep purple & blue anymore, just a slightly darker color than my skin, and they aren't painful or tender to the touch anymore. I've just accepted them. I don't even bother with arnica because new bruises will show up as soon as the old ones fade anyway.
Do your future self a favor and work hard now.

I second that. also, every time I take longer breaks, it starts from zero. I take arnica before every shift and just accepted the little bruising i do get.

I guess i better get used to these bruises then lol. Any suggestions for dances where i can stay off my knees?

If you have a pole, focus on pole work. If you have anything to stand on/lean against, you can use it to do sexy poses. You can also still do a lot of floor work moves, just avoid putting weight directly on your knees. Try looking at floor work videos online.
Since you mentioned twerking, yes, avoid doing it on the floor! Unfortunately, booty shaking on the floor is really hard on your knees. lol
We have a ton of threads about caring for your knees, so I'm not sure which you're looking for... Google search is usually better for searching this site than the on-site search. You can type in something like: stripperweb bruised knees
