I have never been the girl, who does her hair every day, has her nails and toes always done, face full of makeup etc.
I forget to shave, or maybe i'm too lazy to shave.
How do you ladies remember to do all these things?!
Is it just habitual?

It's a habit for me, and I kind of enjoy it. I don't do foundation though, eyeliner, bit of blush and undereye circle coverup for daily wear, much heavier with lipstick for days Im on cam.

It's a habit for me, too. I am kinda high maintenance... I do a full face of makeup and style my hair w/ clip-in extensions almost every day. It gets annoying sometimes, but I honestly look terrible without at least a little bit of makeup/hair styling, so yeah. I can do it pretty quickly.
The things I don't do every day are shave and have painted nails. Sometimes I don't shower, I just dry shampoo my hair, which saves a lot of time. And nails... ehhh. I paint them myself and they chip easily, plus they take forever to dry, so I get way more annoyed doing my nails than all my other high maintenance activities lol.

OP- You are not alone. I have always dressed really girly (skirts, heels, long hair. baubles and rings, hardly wear jeans) but I have NEVER (and I mean, NEVER) worn a lot of makeup or makeup when it was not deemed necessary (like for a photo shoot or stripping). I had no makeup on in my Senior class pictures, at my senior prom or for my sister's wedding (barring a little bit of lip gloss) and mascara. My Mom was the same way and so is my older sister. Truth be told, I have really long, full eyelashes and even skin tone so I really don't "need" it either.
I should make more of an effort with my hair, at least to brush it. This does not make you or I not "girly". There is no written rule that women must adhere to a 35 minute makeup routine every day. No offense to the men and women who do. In fact, I have better skin than a lot of women 10 years younger than me for it. I religiously use moisturizer with sunscreen. I do not think there is anything wrong with women that use base, concealer, foundation, powder, bronzer and three or four or five product on their eyes- to each their own. It is just not right for me.
I skip a shower once, maybe twice a month; and I work predominately from home for my business so I do not need to. I feel gross when I don't shower- sometimes I just get really busy on the computer. I always shave my vagina and the lower part of my legs.
This is, in my opinion the very epitome of modern feminism. Your choice to do what you want with your body and with your time as well. Be you!

Depends. Most times I'm like fuck it. Especially in the winter. But if it's summer time and lots of pretty women around then I'll do all that to step up my competition level.
Doing a grooming routine requires work and time and money so for me the payoff has to be worth it.
Most times I'm comfort over fashion/beauty. But at least 2-3 times a week I like to get dolled up because I do think it's important to feel attractive. I can feel that way whether I'm dolled up or not but sometime the makeup and such gives that extra boost.
I also try to stay looking feminine even when dressed "down" because you never know when you may run into your future husband or you need to be rescused or some shit and some hot paramedic has to cut your clothes off and is horrified that you're a beautiful woman with ...... granny panties and Sasquatch like body hair. Idk they probably don't care but you know what I'm saying?

I just do essentials.
My hacks for fast beauty for tomboys-
* buy a fancy nailpolish (SinfulShine with Gel Tech dries smoother than cheap polish.) Have a nice dainty manicure, even if your nails are short.
* Hair styling is important. Have a few nice brushes and use heat tools to style when you need to look nice. Especially with age women's hair can get flat looking and ratty really fast.
* A good foundation takes years off of the face. & Don't overdo it on eye makeup & contouring, to see it done badly is painful. Just have a fresh face.
* Dental hygiene/whiteness is a bigger part of a beautiful face than most people realize.
* Moisturizer all of your skin. Especially your hands. Hands give away age.
The only things that are habitual are the things that matter to me. I shave my legs and my pubic hair and underarms- oh, and mustache. I put on foundation b/c I have to. Otherwise I'd scare the hell out of everyone. But that's it on days I don't work. I only get girly if I want to or need to, otherwise I'm not looking to impress anyone or get attention. I don't need it for myself.

When i was in my twenties i was all about hair/ makeup/ nails/tanning etc it was like a full time job keeping up with everything but i just cannot be bothered now a days. I webcam most days so i do foundation, powder, eyeliner, mascara and big bright lips. I shave my pussy but nothing else and i find dry shampoo is a godsend.
I'm pretty lazy, and I get lazier every day it seems lol
Shaving is something I did more out of discomfort (I would itch like crazy over the slightest stubble) than because I really cared about the hair. If you really need to shave every day for work and hate doing it, you might eventually invest in laser hair removal. I did, and it has been the best expensive purchase of my life.
I paint my nails every once in awhile, but I get so lazy about fixing them when it chips, that it honestly looks better if I just keep my nails trimmed and clean. If I really want to do something, I'll give myself a black polish pedicure cuz black sticks around a long time.
I rarely straighten my hair anymore. I invested in a really nice, salon-quality "de-tangle, unfrizz, heat protectant" spray that I put on my hair after showering. That way, my hair dries in a more orderly "wave" than frizz and feels nice and soft even without straightening. If I don't schedule appointments in advance, I can go an obscene amount of time without a haircut. So I make sure now to schedule an appointment every 8 weeks before leaving my last appointment. That way, I have to go.
I reserve a full face of makeup for special events now. Most days, I do some BB cream and mascara - maybe some eyeliner if I feel like I need a little more color on my face. Some days I do nothing, and no one seems to even notice. I honestly think that the more time I spend not wearing makeup, the more my face just looks totally normal without it. You, and others, get used to it, unlike if you're used to doing full makeup every day, suddenly not having it, you think you look like a washed-up monster, but you probably don't really. It's just different. Idk, I've grown to embrace it mostly, unless I'm having a really off day and think I need it to perk me up.
I don't want to "promote" tanning, because lord knows I'll get lectured, but I have to tan for 10-12 minutes every 2-3 weeks to keep my eczema in check. This amount of exposure clears up my skin a lot and gives me just enough color to look "healthier." Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but it's certainly not a huge time commitment, and I'm definitely not telling you to go lie out in the sun for hours every day.
Honestly, if you eat well and work out, I'm sure you look fine day-to-day. If the rest feels like a lot of work, then save it for when you need to work. You don't need to look bombshell, stripper-ready when it's not making you money. There are simple things, like moisturizing and keeping your haircut fresh, even if you don't "do your hair" every day, that really make tremendous differences between looking like a bag lady and looking like a well-put together woman who just isn't dressed up that day.

I try to invest my time and money in things that become a part of me, and can't be taken away from me... unless they rip my skin off or cut my body parts up.
Things I do:
good diet and supplements if necessary
exercise
stress free lifestyle (which is the biggest challenge for me because I have PTSD and it's a daily battle. Take medication if you have to, I wish I started sooner)
acupuncture and massage for de-stressing and relaxation
facials and peels for skin
laser hair removal for body hair
decent skincare products
threading my eyebrows. This is one thing I won't skrimp on.
Things I try to save money on:
Home hair removal: I use hair removal cream and shave my body hair instead of waxing at a salon
Exfoliation: $1 Korean italy towel for exfoliation. One glove will last forever. I had mine for 5 years.
Nail polish: I can't tell much difference between pricey and cheap polish, unlike makeup where you get what you pay for IME. I don't really care about nail polish nor wear them much, so I just get the dollar store ones. I prime my nails with sandpaper to help the polish hold better. I use a base, one or two coats of color, and a really good top coat. My polish lasts about a week or two before it chips.
Clothes: I go to the thrift stores in the wealthy parts of town, and get clean, barely worn Saks Fifth Avenue level clothes for like $3 per article. I go for dresses because it's cheaper to buy one $3 dress than a shirt and pants for $6, and dresses are more comfortable and feminine IMO. I will not go cheap with shoes though, because I'll spend at least 1/3rd of my life standing and walking around on shoes. Do not fuck up your feet, ever.
Hair: I buy discontinued brand name shampoo, conditioner, and hair masques from the dollar store. I buy human hair in bundles and make my own wigs and hair extensions instead of buying Bellami.
Things I would do if I had more money, or was more high maintenence:
eyelash extensions or latisse
boob job after having kids... if I ever have kids. All the guys beg me not to ever alter my breasts, so it's not a big deal for me. But I think a boob job will help your sex appeal and give you more bang for your buck than say... sephora makeup.
I am either very cheap, or will save up for the best of the best. I only wear makeup for work, I don't color my hair, I don't tan, I try to enhance my natural look with an inner glow and health, because I think that's where the primal, visceral beauty that attracts men really comes from. I keep my dark hair and pale skin because I go for the ghostly goth look.
(hides face) I know I need to stop but I'm one of those "dont know better" 20-somethings that tan every other day for 2-3 hrs a day. Once my skin has a significant amount of color I rinse in cool water and use a sunless tanner. Once that dries I use a thin layer of either cocoa butter, vaseline, coconut oil...some skin protectant

When you sandpaper your nails to make the polish stick longer, do you also put down that "bottom coat" on top of your freshly sandpapered nails and then polish? Or would the bottom coat come between your nails and the polish too much, making the sandpapering obsolete? Or does it not matter?

I get my nails done at least weekly, so sometimes the lady tells me not to do fake nails so that my nails can 'breathe', so when she does them normally (no fakes) she sands/buffs/whatevers them, puts a bottom coat, then the color, then a top coat, then different colors (depending on the design I want) and then another top coat. I don't know what all the stuff is, but I know there is a bottom coat! They don't chip.
Anyway, I don't think I'd consider myself high maintenance, but I love dolling myself up. The only thing I really loathe is going to the tanning salon; it's just a headache and I don't like spray tans. Everyone there is nice enough, it is just a me-problem I guess. The moment I walk in and smell everyone's different lotions I go into a mood lol and there is always a new tanning lotion they feel the need to explain; like whatever, I just want to tan and get on with my day, damn. And the stupid goggles you have to put on your eyes, ugh. I'm not fond of sweating, either. Please, God, let me wake up tomorrow golden so I don't have to do this laborious shit.
The only other thing I hate relating to girly stuff is when your orders come in and something doesn't fit right and it is literally more worth it to go get an alteration than send it back and deal with that nightmare because you're already in the hole for shipping back and forth and wait time and there is no promise another size will do you any better. I don't think men realize how difficult it is to be a girl.
And lastly, I love the salon, my girl is beast but it takes 5 hours every two weeks to keep my roots at bay and it is SO boring. I know everything about my stylist's past present and future, lol. At least there is champagne or I wouldn't make it.
