Default NYC Living and Loft Beds

    Hi guys!

I just moved to NYC and am most interested in really tiny, affordable places in Manhattan. I'm going to look at something that is 75sq tomorrow, cheap enough to allow me to travel without worrying about additional expenses and wasting rent money, and have plenty of money for whatever, including hobbies I hope to pursue here in NYC as I did in LA.

Anyone have experience with loft beds? I got breast implants a year ago, and would not want to ruin them climbing up and down the bed. And if I were to ever need another breast augmentation re-do, I'd be screwed in the loft-bed living situation. Or would you suggest alternatives? That is, besides living outside of the city in a bigger place...

Perhaps I can get a bed with real steps built in...Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I've been here since Sunday and am really pushing myself to find a stable place quickly, so I can begin work/travel and start making money immediately but as I've found out, this immediacy might be overly ambitious in a hyper-competitive rental market like NYC.

Any input about loft beds, climbing things, and breast implants/surgery would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

It's like a bed with a ladder, like the top half of a bunk bed. So you can have other furniture beneath it in a cramped space

Manhattan for cheap!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!? Good luck. Mine was a 500 sq ft. studio and cost me 2700. That was cheapest I could find.

That would be about 8.6 feet by 8.6 feet.

Maybe it was supposed to be 750 square feet.

Meat Packing district has a ton of those type of apartments for about $800 a month, as do the surrounding neighborhoods, they're listed on OLR

The snakes are fine. They don't mind a long narrow room.

    Are you vacationing this weekend?

Thanks, Persianprincess. That one resource is good to know, as all the listings I've found thus far has been off of trulia, streeteasy.com, craigslist, landlordlinks, a whole bunch of facebook nyc housing groups and the Listings Project for artists. I managed to find a six month sublease, furnished, about 20 min via public transit to work, which is I think what I need at least to start, maybe see how things go first. Hopefully, things won't be a disaster!
