Default Denver Clubs - Platinum, La Bo, Diamond Cabaret, Shotguns

    Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some current info on Denver Clubs. I'm considering Platinum, La Bo, Diamond and Shotguns.

Do La Bo and Shotguns still require schedules? It seems like alot of Denver clubs relaxed the schedule requirements after the PTs lawsuit came out to make sure they are treating the dancers like true independent contractors. Are girls still employees at Shotguns? And what is the house fee and tip outs?

Diamond I would just be looking to get hired for upstairs/afterdark.

My current club is very dead and extremely smoky! I have to be there forever to make money and I can't take all the cigar smoke all the time. I feel like the club scene is dying in Denver. Not sure if it is like that everywhere or not. I'm working on my career plan B, but I need some money in the meantime.

Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post on the public thread.

    Thanks,
    Kiti

    Hey there,

So I just relocated back here from N.O. where I was working on Bourbon at two different clubs for like four years...when I used to work in Co. I was at Nitro up in Boulder, and I really liked it there even though at the time they required scheduling and had "strict" rules (this was back in '15, so I can't speak for what's been happening there presently though I did call in the other week and they said they're "always taking auditions/hiring"). I digress.

I decided to audition at Diamond first because I've been there a handful of times with local friends who have VIP there, and always enjoyed myself; when I went into audition though, they were extremely rude to me, and turned me down after auditioning; when I asked why they wouldn't be contracting me, they told me "You're not attractive enough." Alright, alright, I just shook it off and figured they're fully staffed.

Next I went to Penthouse because I knew someone who had worked there and had a generally good experience, and I went through the same process...auditioned (danced), got taken back into the office and told "You're not attractive enough." ~~when I went back to the dressing room I had multiple girls approach me inquiring if I had formal training in dance (I do), and if I had been stripping for a while (I have, in multiple major cities, without ever having an issue getting hired...) and when I told them, the DJ and a waitress who was being friendly to me earlier on they were baffled as to why I wouldn't have gotten a contract. Btw, they have a huge spinning pole at that club that is pretty whack (I mean, I managed tricks on it but it's extra thick and sort of rotates oddly probably bc of how high it is) but I did like the general layout of the place, and despite the management being abrupt/rude with me the staff and dancers there were extremely helpful and personable.

One of the girls suggested Shotgun Willie's so I walked up the street there from Penthouse, and talked with a guy there who gave me the lowdown about auditioning. He also told me they have a weekly "amateur" night on Thursdays where you can win a cash prize of $200 and/or get contracted (or neither). When I told him I had been having a difficult time getting hired in Denver, but was coming from a pretty professional/experienced background in formal/exotic dancing, he told me I should have no problem getting hired there, and also mentioned they do two choreographed dance nights amongst the dancers (which is pretty neat imo). SO I decided to go in on a Thursday and audition at their amateur night, which in hindsight was probably a mistake as I was really only concerned with getting a contract, and not winning the prize (didn't realize how over-saturated it would be with girls trying to win the money--but DUH). Honestly, it was a fucking nightmare. They told me to show up at 8, that it would kick of at 8:30, so I get there with full makeup, and my outfit ready to go, get changed, then proceed to wait *TWO AND A HALF* freaking hours waiting for the "competition" to begin. And it was awkward bc they wanted us all to sit on the floor but we obviously couldn't sell private dances, or "solicit drinks" from customers (I always forget about these weird, conservative Colorado laws, lol), plus I didn't know what the general contact boundary on the floor was...anyways, I can only imagine how uncomfortable that whole process was for the girls competing who had zero stripclub experience, but finally after like 4.5 hours they took us back and announced that out of the 11 ladies they'd only be able to contract 2 (which ironically ended up being two of the women who literally only wanted to win the cash prize and had zero interest in getting hired). Me and two other chicks who were there who also had previous experience working in the industry were shocked and bummed...it was ludicrous. Anyways! Point being, if you're going to audition there I'd highly suggest NOT going on amateur night unless you want your chances of being contracted to be reduced, and to waste your time for free helping run a promotional event for a club that is literally going to communicate zero information about what the hell is going on, ha.

I went in to LaBo next, but they refused to let me even audition because my social security card has my mom's surname on it and my license doesn't include that name, even though my signatures match up and everything, and I've never had any issue with a club turning me down for that, let alone noticing it. They were also extremely rude to me which I found to be strange as I am a rather calm, easygoing person...

So after all this shit, I'm left with trying out Platinum 84 or PT's...haven't heard the best about either joint, but you really never know what's going on in an establishment until you're working there, so I'm totally open to trying it out...but goddamn. For anyone reading this who dances locally, have any idea why I keep getting turned down? To share a little description--I'm 5'6, super slender/toned, long legs, long natural red hair, blue eyes, fair skin, clear complexion, hot face, c cups...like, I know I'm not ugly by any means and I seemingly fit the general aesthetic of this town dancer-wise, plus I present myself as pretty professional/charming and I'm a fantastic dancer, so what's the problem here?

To the original poster, I hope you've had a more successful time than I auditioning places, and let me know if you ended up trying Platinum 84!

^sorry you had to go through all that... it sounds stupid

I'm in the same boat... I'm thinking of La Bo and Shotgun Willie's but would love any more bits of info from anyone who's danced or auditioned there before. (I've already done a few searches...)

I auditioned at La Bo a long time ago....keep in mind they run things the way VCG corporate wants it.... And tanorexia is the norm in Denver....

I've worked at platinum. The environment was great. Great management, nice club, nice girls. The money was awful for me. The dances are 20$ and they didn't have any VIP rooms. I only worked day shift, but the stage sets are extremely long and there's almost no customers there during the day. There's no pay out here, but i only lasted a week because of how slow it was.

^I'm wondering what time of year you worked there? I've heard certain seasons are better/worse. (To be fair, some people say summer is slower, and others say winter is slower, soooo who knows. lol)

^i was there in the fall. I don't think that i had the right looks for Denver. Girls who had a more alternative look made a lot more money. But in general girls did say if i tried working nights there i would have perhaps liked it more.

I've had some small luck at PT's on Evans St, Centerfolds didn't hire me. Same 'You're not attractive enough.' line. This may have to do with the fact that Centerfolds has you audition on a stage without a pole.. It does sound like you are more of their type, so Centerfolds may work out if you don't mind the no pole thing.

Denver clubs are notorious for being rude. Don’t take it personally. I thought about moving there and it was awful from what my coworkers said. I’ve never like competitive clubs, not that I don’t think I have a chance. I don’t want to be stressed out all the time by management thinking I’m a dime a dozen

Ive always been curious about Dream House, the 24 hours seems so weird. Also did you enjoy Bare Assets/was it decent money.
