Real pimps, as in the bad kind, not suitcase pimps, drivers, or agencies, often separate their associates from any support groups so as to lower their personal perceived value.

What can you do about it? Nothing really, IMHO. The person has to be strong enough on their own to do what they need with their life.
If he's a non-exploitative pimp or "manager", what benefit exactly does he give her? Would you have this kind of thing even in countries where prostitution is legal? Like, why does a sex worker need a "manager"?

He may manage appointments so that bad clients are weeded out, book (although from this site I have learned most prefer women bookers), ensure that clients are real and responsible, etc. Taking Mark Spiegler as an example; I've never met the guy personally, but he must add some value because he's been in business for years.

Unfortunately sex work is dangerous, a side us "good guys" never see and sometimes refuse to believe. From cheap asses who border on robbers to outright rapist and worse, scumbags believe that sex workers are "vulnerable" and therefore targets. That is another reason why infantilizing strong adult people who make the choice to be sex workers, rather than celebrating them, is very bad.

Treating a sex worker like a one dimensional victim when they are not robs them of efficacy and determination, denies their humanity, when frankly we should be grateful they exist.

I was just pointing out the irony of that particular thread. The fact that so many dancers in it said they have persoannly witnessed not only pimps in the club, but dancers that had pimps and this op was pretty much told he was a jerk for assuming it or concerned about it due to his physical situation.
