    Dizzy Is this move impossible?

    CwDlqPz.png

This does not look impossible to me, but I'm in a facebook forum (for female sword fighters) in which someone who has some experience in aerial is claiming quite vehemently that a pole dancer could absolutely NOT do this and it is a clipart file of a ballet dancer. I'm tired of arguing about it and came here to get the experts to just settle it.

I'm not seeing why this would be impossible for a pole dancer. I feel like I've seen pole dancers do much more difficult things than hold the pole in the right thigh and right arm while holding the left leg straight and parallel away from the pole while the left arm and back arc away from the pole, particularly if there's centripetal force from a spinning pole to help out.

    Your opinions are valued!

Oh, and the chick insisting that pole dancers can't do this wants me to be sure to point out that the pole is being held by the leg quite a bit above the knee instead of in the crook of the knee.

Whatever... regular women want to own the "art of pole" so bad, they can have it. Their men will still come into clubs to spend money us, without the stupid pole tricks.

I was only asking if a dancer could execute this move, maybe we're having a linguistic miscommunication. Nobody is trying to own the art of pole, this is a martial artist asking a pole dancer if that is a possible move.

The majority of dancers don't even touch the pole. At least the clubs I worked at throughout the years.

Of course it's possible. All you need is one arm or hand exerting the force to hold on. I have seen many more difficult tricks than this.

Me too, I don't really get why she thinks it must be a clipart of a ballet dancer superimposed on a pole, I'm baffled by that. She insists that she knows it all and is right, but... I've seen people do this extension. And much harder (or at least harder looking). She seems to think one arm isn't enough and that the extended leg is physically impossible without being crimped on to the pole by a knee. Or something. Idk. I can't sort her logic, just wanted outside confirmation that it is within the scope of a pole dancer's training/ability.

I'm pretty confident I could slide down the pole in this move (in fact I will try it later)...but holding that move without the supporting ankle and using the knee arm pit would be very difficult.

Holding not necessary, IMO, plmk how the experiment goes!

Her hand is on it lol of course you can do that trick because lots of people can hold their body weight with one arm. The added thigh makes it even easier. Send this woman a link to http://poledancedictionary.com/moves/?q=One+arm and search one hand too and search one leg lol....also watch any pole dancing videos on YouTube from world class pole athletes and this bitch will shut the fuck up lol

I hold myself with one arm in various ways every single shift so this hoe is dumb

It's the same muscles being used as in a one-armed push up

It's possible. I've seen much harder tricks than that.
