Default What strippers really think about their customers

This website claims to reveal the harsh truth about what strippers really think about their customers:

    https://thoughtcatalog.com/lorenzo-j...their-clients/

So yeah, ladies, this is pretty much about the size of it?

I'm very sorry if you thought I was being negative, I didn't mean to come across that way. I really don't think I have negative feelings towards women who work in strip clubs at all.

You stated that we are scam artist in another thread & then you started this thread.

This thread & that article shows a very narrow view of a huge industry.

You are new here, you have lots & lots of reading to do on this site alone. But if it is your intentions to post negative stuff about strippers as a concerted effort to run us down. Then I do have an issue with it. I read this site for 3 months before my first post about a year before my first thread.

I do not believe that strippers are scam artists and my intention in posting this thread is simply to find out what people think of the article, I'm sorry if you think there's something wrong with the way I worded my first post. I've been reading this forum for a few years and I used to post under a different name. I like the strippers I hang out with and try to be respectful and considerate to them, and I didn't intend to cause you any offence.

I mean, the article is supposed to be a series of quotes from people saying what they think about their work, I'm just curious to know what take you have on it. The final sentence of my OP was meant to be half-joking but I'm sorry if I didn't make that very clear.

You used to post under a different name? Why aren't you posting under it? Why did you need a new one?

    And the next story is
    https://thoughtcatalog.com/melanie-b...-a-strip-club/

Some people whine, some people whine and put it on the internet, and some people need a job and write drivel to make a living.

I was trying to log in under my old name and having problems. I had to get myself a new password and I still found I just couldn't log in for some reason. I don't know if it was a problem with the site or if I was just doing something wrong somehow. But anyway I decided to get myself a new username because I thought that might fix the problem.

It's unfortunate that I seem to have got off on the wrong foot with you. You probably got offended when I used the word "scam" in the other thread, so fair enough, if it's a voluntary transaction and she's not misleading him in any way about what is happening then it's not a scam and I shouldn't have used that word, I wrote the post too quickly and didn't think too carefully about what I was saying. If I said instead that there is at least some chance she might try to manipulate him in order to keep him as her regular customer, maybe that might be a less offensive way of putting it?

With regard to my OP in this thread I really meant it in a sort of light-hearted way and didn't mean it to be offensive. You could maybe think of it as reflecting my own insecurity, that girl I hung out with last Friday night who was such good fun to hang out with, what if that's what she really thinks about me?

So yeah. Please don't get the idea that I have any negative feelings about your profession. I mentioned earlier that I used to be someone's regular customer and now she has stopped working at that club and I have socialized with her once as a friend. I think that the strippers that I hang out with are perfectly nice people and I wish them all the best.

Click on the "keep me logged in" box That seems to solve the problem. The site has had a problem for the last couple of weeks.

Gizmo I will tell you, IMHO nothing is as it seems on first glance. Dancers are people, they vary, just like you and me. You can't say they all feel one way. In another thread, Sam38g asked a question I thought was hilarious, to whit, "do you keep track of the people at your favorite restaurant too?" - think about that - Does anyone ask, "What do servers really think about diners?" "Do they hate all diners? Are their smiles real? Is Wesley my waiter's real name? Is he *really* in college? When he recommends a wine does he really love that wine??!??" Because everyone pretty much knows that Wesley puts on a smile, and he forgets about you as soon as you leave, and he hates you if you're cheap. And they almost never say, "You know who really loves me? That guy Wesley at Outback - you should see his face light up when I go in there".

If you read the threads here, which I highly recommend, you'll see a lot of nuance.

LOL Bahuba, I need to buy you a drink one night.

Well, as far as waiters go......... there is a steak house where they do all know my name. Their faces do light up & they always escort me to the bath room with a hand on my elbow... Always asking if I am going to need any help while in the restroom. It is funny.

We all can get wrapped up in our own little worlds & forget the big picture sometimes. Humor is the best way to get others to realize we are making everything out to be more than it is. Happy you got my joke.

Went back to my favourite restaurant in Muenster too while visiting there last week for the first time in two years, and the waiter came up and shook my hand and gave every sign of being very pleased to see me. And yes, I must say I didn't stop to think "What does he really think about me" for a single second, so yes, interesting comparison.

Yes, I know dancers are people and usually my main aim when I go in there is to sit down and have a drink with them and get to know them better. When I saw that article on the internet I couldn't help feeling curious about what the dancers here thought about it.

I'll own up to #10. Those asshats quoted me verbatim and didn't even give me credit. Not all female customers are terrible, but enough of them.

I'm pretty much on the same page as you really, just curious about what people thought of the article.

Tbh i didn't read the article cause any time words get put in our mouths for scandalous/sensational reading it pisses me right off.

But yeah, i have custies i am genuinely happy to see- sometimes just because i know they are spenders but sometimee i legitly have a good time with them; and also there are patrons i wish would die in a fire, and everything in between.

Smell nice, spend money, follow the rules, and you'll both have a great time.

The article is fake. They def. came onto Stripperweb for research and stole quotes from Tempest. Gizmo is the former user whose user name was a month and the corresponding zodiac sign for that month. I am Scooby Doo.

I think the problem with the article is it makes it seem like customers take up major space in our brains to the point where we care enough to hate them and 'spend 20 minutes laughing' at them. I don't necessarily hate or love any of my customers, but most of the time I don't even remember them or think about them again after they've paid me. I definitely don't spend 20 minutes in the back mocking any of them either lol unless something crazy happened and I'm telling a friend about it.

I think alot of customers think they're more important than they really are to us.. like I get alot of texts from unknown numbers saying "Hey its me, Mike" or any other vague white guy name. It's probably a customer I met a year ago but he thinks I should actually remember him. I can't even remember my customers from my last shift half the time lol

The hypocrites in the comment section are more entertaining than the quotes from the strippers.

    Fair enough. That's pretty understandable.

I thought the article was probably a bit different from the reality but I was curious to know the take people had on it.
