Default To those worried about "camming shaming" for the future, don't.

I mention this because I constantly see posts about girls asking "Will camming affect my future employment opportunities?", and honestly it's silly.

Girls, we're entrepreneurs, we're making money on our own and figuring out ways to expand our brands and gain customers. Just like any business.

Some bank A LOT of money, and we all grow together on this.

I just came back from an invitation only, private screening of Baby Driver, invited by Sony Pictures MX themselves 3 days ahead of the official release date in Mexico. It didn't matter that I'm a camgirl and make porn, all that mattered was that I have followers whom I interact with and care about.

And I also talked with Twitch LATAM's marketing director, who happens to be a friend of mine, and she said they welcome content creators no matter where they come from, even camgirls or indie porn makers, like us. As long as you make good streams, you have the same chance as anyone else of becoming a partner. Her words.

Mia Khalifa got insta partnered with Twitch when she joined.

Stop worrying about camming shaming, people. Sure, you won't get hired as a teacher later, but who cares? We're entrepreneurs, we can make our own educational YouTube channels if we want, and reach a much wider audience!

My point is: Own doing this if you truly love it, think outside the box, make the best of it and the good results will follow

    Stay frosty!

I've been saying this for years. but you know, people need to hear things about 1,000 times but they really only need to get it once.

But for the ones where go to college, pay for college with camming then get a career/job if that is your dream, then you need to work hard at it. You will need to fight harder then before if you want to fit in with the "normal" people.

    OR

You can be weird, be an entrepreneur, KNOW you are a creator, an influencer. a personal brand and ROCK THAT SHIT. We are ALREADY on the internet. you know how many people kill to have a following like we do.

I am with an internet marketing community that every week they do weekly trainings on social media marketing. YOU KNOW WHAT DAMN IT many of us have already been doing it.

I know I have I started live streaming video way before periscope, facebook live, youtube live. We all the minute we went live on a webcam site. that right there we have a skill set that regular work from home entrepreneurs are dying to know how. they don't know how to handle haters. they don't know how to get over the fear of talking to a camera. they don't how to handle a dead room but still have to go on with the show and make content.

That right there many of us could easily make a blog post, instagram, snapchat what have you and turn that into valuable content. Makes us marketable and makes us desirable to people who want to follow a leader.

I couldn't have say it better. Shamers are everywhere, no matter what u do and how you are. First of all, you can't move to the next step, if you CARE what others say about you. Especially if you plan to become a famous person. You are a grown up, real adult, when you carry your past with pride and heads up. As time as you haven't done anything illegal or anything that harmed other people.

Thanks for this post! I've been thinking about this a lot recently. Fear of being found out has been plaguing me for YEARS... ever since I got into this biz at 21. I'm 28 now. I'm pretty sure it's my path in life. And why shouldn't it be? I make a great income camming, and I love it more than any other job I've ever had.

Haters gonna hate. I agree, we shouldn't let them hold us back. There is so much earning potential, and so much fulfillment, out there...

I got my own camming domain recently, and I freaking love it. Being an entrepreneur, supporting yourself with your personality and skills, is an incredible feeling. I never would have thought I could do it. A lot of us are damn good at what we do. We should own it.

THIS!! SO MUCH!! Been in the game for 7 years and have branched out and became a non adult celebrity/public figure/brand. Have told countless professionals and aquaintances.

No one cares. Don't worry about it.

If only I understood this when I was 21. "I just see opportunities where girls have profitability based on their own image, and I want to help them own it without a man in between them," says Burgher

Everybody's situation is different. Income from camming is different. The way we do it is different, Our personal lives are different. The circumstances of everything. Our well being. Our motivation. Our personality. Where we come from. How old we are. Social status. Social life. Family support. I think its easy to say dont be worried about camming shaming in the future but I think the reality is one size doesnt fit all, and advice that fits someone's situation will not fit another's situation.

Yes we are all different, but I definitely know if you let the worry of being outted or shamed for a cam model consume you it will ruin your life whatever it is you decide to do with it.

Didn't Zoie Burgher kick Celestia out of her stream group because she decided to go into camming/porn? Celestia is about to start on MFC actually I love that she's bridging the gap from mainstream into camming.

Also I LOVE THIS THREAD! It's the truth The only reason that people can shame you is if you allow yourself to feel ashamed. In my opinion, the people who wouldn't work with me because of my career choices are people I wouldn't want to work with in the first place. Fuck em!

Yes, you are (Sadly) right about Celestia.

I wonder if she hovers around these forums, would be nice to have her in the SW's crew.

Hell, come to think about it we COULD make a camgirl/gaming crew like Zoie's, but cooler and with more sex! lol

Yeah, Zoie was just on her twitter bashing her for porn and "pounding the pussy" and spreading bullshit stats on porn stars shelf life being 6 months LOL Sad because I was all on board for her quotes in that article, seems like she only wants females to use their image when it fits in her box of what's acceptable.

Celestia follows me on Twitter, I'll DM her and let her know about the forums in case she doesn't know already

I would love to keep more articles and examples of bad ass women in this thread, I'll be on the look out and post some when I see them!

thank you for making this post. I worry from time to time about how my future will be after camming.

I lost a lot of friends after I told them I became a sex worker/webcam model, and my parental unit has been constantly telling me how this will "ruin my future" and that me being able to afford a brand new car after being a cam girl is an "illusion" that I don't make any real money etc etc

    Needed to read this.

Ignore friends and family alike because they will be the first to turn on you. Mine were the same until they hit hard times and it was suddenly "can we borrow some of that dirty whore money" (not exact words but you get the idea) and I told them to take a hike. If my job isn't a real job or I 'make nothing' how can they borrow anything?!

Exactly, now half my family don't speak to me as they feel I am hoarding what is somehow rightfully 'theirs' when I am doing well.

    How does that work?!

OT of this thread I never intend to work for anyone else again whether I am in the adult industry or not so anyone is free to cam shame me to their hearts content. My bills are always and will always be paid.

When I hit 40 I literally gave up on the notion of any likelihood of doing a vanilla job again. Oh how wrong I was! I have one I absolutely adore and would be fired in a heartbeat.

It's not even just that, but it would hugely impact on so many other factors in my private life.

We live & learn, all going well!

I have an ex of my partner currently shaming me to his family. I'm 40 next year. Can't imagine getting a vanilla job again but really not sure what else I can do as well as I do this. I don't hide myself, I show my face etc but just don't shout about what I do but the only reason I'm not more open is he has children :-/ I know society would frown upon it.

I don't think it's silly. It is a valid concern. Some professions would be difficult to either get into or stay into if your adult past is discovered. Teaching is a good example. If that is your dream and adult work is just a means to an end, I do NOT recommend camming at all whatsoever. The internet is forever. Dancing, phone sex, escorting or a combination of them may be better. Of course you can still be discovered but camming is much riskier in this regard. That's not to say there are not alternatives. As others have mentioned you could run your own tutoring business, or even teach overseas. Some countries pay BIG TIME for English teachers. In short, please do consider camming and your future.

I didnt want to start a new thread to ask this question, mainly because there's already so much great info here. I know that many of us are branching out from adult using our cammodel skills. Even if you're going into a mainstream field what arw the reasons behind choosing one over the other? Why can't you do both? I tend to be the happiest in this industry when I have a fallback that I can balance to suit my needs. But I do know that Im in a different situation from some where Ive decided that I dont have to keep everything separate. Adultwork is something I could possibly do til I retire so long as it funds the next venture. This post is for those who may think going 100% mainstream is the answer to their prayers.

I have a part-time vanilla business that's been growing over the last few years, and I recently came back to adult work. I love doing both. I feel like they each contribute to my life in different ways, not just financially, but also as creative outlets. And I agree, being able to fall back on one or the other is very reassuring. I do keep everything separate, but eventually I likely won't. I'm not especially 'secretive' about my double life, so to speak, but I don't really like them bleeding into one another right now, either.

Yikes! I wrote that from my phone earlier, sorry for the garbled message. I'm not completely out there about my adult stuff with everyone I encounter. But I've recently told family members (those who matter the most) a version of what I do for a living. Now that I've done that I feel more empowered to get shit done. No fear involved. LOL like if Granny knows what's up, why should I care about anyone else opinion? And I'm finding that many do not care.
