Not for an apartment, but for an office. What are the chances of them actually checking LOL
So I have 38k net value (24k in IRA, 11.5K in stocks, 1.5K in a college 529, $600 in savings) and I want to rent a year's lease of office space for $200/month. The office I used to work at has 2 branches, Branch 1 and Branch 2. At Branch 1, I got in a feud with my office mate because he was fucking stealing my money and not paying his part of the rent, and he was going around telling people I am his "secretary" or some shit, so people thought we were an item and since he already had a bad reputation, the manager of the office didn't like me either (without ever seeing me) and said that if I want to rent, I need to give them a bank statement showing proof of income, my driver's license, proof of living somewhere (they thought I was another "homeless girl" that my office mate was fucking as he tends to go after vulnerable women, as I recently discovered). On the other hand, I visited Branch 2 and the people there were not aware of my marred "reputation", and very enthusiastic about me joining them and during my tour with them, they didn't ask me for prove a bunch of shit like "income" and "make sure you're not homeless".
Anyway, just in case that Branch 2 wants proof of income before filing a year contract with them, I want to cover my basis and forge a bank statement. I haven't had an income in quite a while except a few checks from an old woman I am taking care of, which is like $200 a month, and I don't know if 11.5k in stocks, 1.5k in college 529, and $600 in savings would be enough of a backup to make up for my recent low income. I haven't been dancing in a while either. I've been focusing my time in school, personal care (struggling from depression), and doing things I love but don't necessarily make money out of (like managing online forums that feel like family to me).
I am thinking of claiming that I make $1000 a month (which isn't much, but enough to cover bills and food) and that I have a saving of 2k and 11.5k in stocks. I have no problem with Photoshop or editing my bank statement either.
I have no problem paying my bills (I NEVER missed a rent or a credit card bill, or any bills, and I have a credit rating of 770+). I doubt the branch is going to go calling my bank and asking if my statements are legit lol, and I plan on telling them that I don't know how to sign onto my online bank account so they can't make me show them my real bank statement on my phone or something. However is this illegal as fuck? It's not an apartment. And this is IF they ask for my bank statements.
