Default Martin Shkreli convicted of securities fraud, conspiracy

Martin Shkreli, who gained national notoriety two years ago for jacking up the price of a drug used by AIDS patients, was convicted of securities fraud Friday for mismanaging two investment funds.

    From the above page:

Shkreli drew national scorn two years ago when, as the CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals, he unapologetically raised the price of a lifesaving drug used by some AIDS patients from $13.50 per pill to $750. That episode is unrelated to the fraud case.

He is a big egotistical Bullshitter, which is apparently his dominant trait.

He only had a maximum of $3,000,000 under management, which is a lot of money, but hardly counts as a Hedge Fund these days.

Also, none of his clients ultimately lost money, which made this a rare prosecution success, and will help Shkreli at sentencing. I predict he will get about 3 - 6 years at Club Fed. and will serve 85% of that sentence, as is mandated.

Of course he will do his time in a Club Fed, that's a given.

He pleaded guilty to 3 of the charges but not all of them. '

Since he didn't rip off his clients, they all made money. Makes me wonder if raising the price on that Med & then being a snarky joker about it all. They couldn't nail him for unethically raising that drugs price but found a way to get him anyways.

Couldn't happen to a nicer skank! Hope he finds a large burly boyfriend in prison the arrogant little prick. Funny even his own attorney said he has no people skills but with those dead eyes he is more of a serial killer.

Other than that I wish him all the best!

    sociopath
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

NOTE: anything I post here, outside of a direct quote, is my opinion only, which I am entitled to. Take it for what you estimate it is worth.

OP of this thread added "Conspiracy" as if what he did was okay. Despite lots of money & big fancy lawyers, he pleaded guilty for 3 of the charges. Making me think he didn't want the Feds digging around to much.

He openly & bragged about taking advantage of the very sick for profit. I have zero sympathy for him. He will go to club fed, where all the rich guys go.

Here's a former inmate writing about what Shkreli may be facing, and how stupid he was to make those comments about Hillary Clinton's hair:

It is a shame this was in a federal court by a judge whom the voters cant put out of office at the next election.
