Wow. Especially about the palm oil, destroying all the forest, & shrimp, gathering in the sea turtles & other sea creatures/fish.
I also heard shrimp have arsenic

^I never thought I would say "I'm thankful for having a shellfish allergy" but it seems that day has come lol
I've heard that about palm oil. Apples are just a no go for me anyways because I have ibs and they trigger a flare up of it. Popcorn, same thing. Off that list the only thing that really got me was the eggs. I love me some sunny side up eggs or boiled eggs every now and then.

If eggs really are bad for you, then I wonder what I should be eating for breakfast that is high in protein. All this time I thought eggs were the best source of protein. I understand the concerns about cholesterol, but I thought all the cholesterol in eggs was the good kind. I eat eggs for breakfast almost every morning, and I buy them organic.
I also eat steak a couple times a week, but aside from that I don't eat any other red meats. I get my steaks from an amish farmer's market, so there are no antibiotics or added hormones.
Aside from that, I mostly avoid all the other foods mentioned in that video.

Maybe you should get your cholesterol tested to see if it's high.

I like tofu for protein

Eggs are super bad for cholesterol (but only the yellows). A single boiled egg has over 60% of your daily cholesterol, so two or three is above and beyond what anyone should be eating. Sticking with whites is one of the best things you can do for yourself if you enjoy eating eggs (as it doesn't have any cholesterol).

Most of this is common sense for anyone who has a basic knowledge of nutrition. For non-organic produce, it's best to fill up your sink with warm water and white vinegar and let the produce sit for about 10 mins, you'd be amazed/disgusted by how much crap comes off!

I am not a big meat or dairy (or breakfast for that matter) eater personally but nut butter and some fruits (guava, apricot and avocado- to a lesser extent have protein). Nut butters can be put on toast and so can avocado. Guava is good on it's own and apricot is really good in oatmeal; which can be cooked with a high protein "milk" or there are certain varieties with protein. Also, you could do an egg white and spinach omelette, if you really like eggs.
There is really no reason you can not eat lean meat in the morning. For some reason in Western culture we have these pre-determined "breakfast" foods but if you like meat there is no reason to not eat steak or pork or chicken or even fish in the a.m. If you think about it, many people enjoy bacon or ham, steak and eggs - sub the eggs for something else) and bagels with lox... and salmon has A LOT of protein.
They sell high protein bagels, pancake and waffle mixes or you could do smoothies.

Eggs are NOT going to affect your cholesterol, that has been proven false. The yolk in eggs is great for your eyes & brain.
Moderation
At one time Butter was considered bad for you and now it's good for you again. Eat real food that hasn't been processed & lots of chemicals added, which is common sense. You can grow & can your own veggies, grow your own spices, go out & pick berries & make your own jams. Bake your bread or pasta made from scratch with wholesome organic sources.
Since most of my relatives lives to be in their 90s, I'll follow the same diet they did rather than the latest fad or propaganda.
Nature didnt mess food up, the chemicals we put on them, into the water & processing it to preserve it for long term shelf life is what's not normal. How can your body process chemicals. It can't.
I rarely eat out & cook all my own food from scratch, lost 25 pounds that way & never made a single sacrifice or mandated any food off limits.

fat isn't evil, fat is good for you. I drink full fat milk. When they take out the fat in milk they replace it with sugar. Full fat milk & cheese actually helps you absorb the protein, vitamins & minerals in it.
My Grandfather & his mother lived to be in their late 90s. They had eggs, bacon, buttered toast, milk & sliced tomatoes for breakfast every day. Lard sandwiches on a regular basis, because you didn't throw food out & be wasteful. They were dairy farmers & only thing they bought at a store was salt & sugar about once a month. They even grew their own wheat, had it grounded by another family member with a mill for flour.
At 93 my Great Grandmother was putting in her own storm windows.
They also ate onion sandwiches, tomato pies, buttermilk pies, plenty of greens, even made their own sauerkraut. Homemade mayo is just yummy.
There's a documentary I watched which is kind of old but its called "In Defense Of Food" and it talked about how the sugar industry started a propaganda campaign against high/whole fat unprocessed or minimally processed foods in order for Americans to buy into the low-fat fad back in the 90's. It seems like many Americans who are now in their 50s still buy into the low-fat thing, while believing that sugar isn't harmful.

Correct & Margarine became a thing with a propaganda campaign against butter. About 30 years ago in the grocery store I picked up a tub of margarine & some butter and read the ingredients and fat content. One I knew exactly what was all in it and the other one had a bunch of chemicals, the fat content was about the same. Butter was REAL and not a chemical altered food.

Your body is not set up to digest chemicals. It has to work harder & it gets confused. Making your body work harder to figure out what to do with those chemical takes away from other functions. People who follow fads & chemically altered food look about 10 years older too.
I am almost 50 & just NOW getting wrinkles around my eyes. Fat is your friend in helping prevent wrinkles and the aging process. Tonight i plan on cooking a nice ribeye in olive oil and then a pat of butter on top along with a big salad & roasted root vegetables. Have homemade baked rolls from earlier this week to go with it.

Am I the only one who watches these and reads health magazines/forums and all and still ends up in the store buying pastries because when I see them I forget all I know about health?
I must second Sam’s post! For a few years (while I wasn’t camming) I worked as an Account Manager for a MAJOR international organic food brand and worked hand in hand with natural food store owners across the US and Canada. It’s true... you body isn’t meant to filter the chemicals that are now in our food. Fat is good for you! Look at people who lost a bunch of weight on a fat free diet... their faces look sickly and they are often ill (my mom for example). And calories are bullshit and most food you shouldn’t be eating will have an “only blank calories!” claim on it so those who aren’t super aware of nutrition will think it’s a better choice. If you ate good organic meats, whole dairy, whole grains and a bunch of fresh veggies and fruits you’d never have to worry about calories. Real food is filling and impossible to overeat on. (Discalaimer: This doesn’t apply to “whole fat” dairy that’s mostly sugar like yoplait yogurt)
I only believe in balance and having a blood test twice an year so you can see if your eating habits are ok or not.
I am for choosing the best alternative.
The video is 100% right in some stuff.
-I NEVER do microwave popcorn. First, because I don't like that plastic taste and second, for the obivous reason. I prefer to spend 10 minutes, doing popcorn in the pot, on the stove.
-Regarding apples, I never eat them with peel, no matter how much i'd clean them. Actually no fruits or some veggies (like, cuucmbers). I always peel them off. Is safer.
Of course, I always try to pick the organic version, but if I don't have that option, ugh, I just take some extra safety steps like super cleaning and peeling.
- Palm oil problem, is real. Unfortunately, I have no clue on how we could stop the process, since we all consume some McDonalds in a while.
- Sugar free candies and diet soda? HAHAHAHA if I want a candy or a glass of soda, better be loaded with sugar because that's why I want to trat myself with it!))))))))
I usually try to avoid soda by simply preparing myself or buying fruit syrup and mixing with sparkling water. I get same taste result, 99% healthier.
- If I still want sugar, rule number one: NEVER drink the sugar. I sometimes step over it, but in rare ocasions. When I want something sweet, I prefer to eat some slice of cake and drink a lemonade with honey.
- I prefer to do my smoothies at home, throwing some fruits in a blender with some water or milk is really not a big deal. I would never go at Starbucks and pay for a smoothie. If I really want something healthy, I am sure there are other stores around that sell healthy stuff to snack.
But, you can't tell me to not never consume gluten products, if my body tolerates it, for example.
I truly reccomend the bi-anual blood test. That way you can find out if your eating habits are harming, because, some foods may weigh more into your choloesterol levels, than will weigh in mine. We are humans and we are different and we can't all have same eating habits. Some can eat only crap food, drink and smoke and be healthy the entire life and other must consume only organic food or only vegan food, because their body is rejecting other forms of it.
My doctor told me the next thing: "You can't live your entire life seeking for organic and 100% bio food. You just can't, especially if you are a normal person with no allergies or special restrictions. The modern man's body is already developing resistance to all theese chemicals so, all you can do is to consume bad foods only if you are really craving or, just in rare ocasions and everything will be fine. You can only try to choose the better version of the so- called "bad food": For example, in the morning you want some toast and sunny eggs? Perfect. Choose to cook them in a non stick pan, without oil, instead of deep frying them. Use 85% fat butter on your toast, instead of low fat or margarine. OR if you are on a budget, don't pick up the cheapest version of butter, just because you can't afford the quality one. You just don't pick it at all and go get some fresh cheese, mix it with some dill and garlic and spread on that fcking toast!".
And so on, ofc, the discussion is long but you got the point, girls.
I always hated extreme stuff. I could never live my entire life like that.
Of course, there would be nothing to do if I had an allergy or being medical restricted in any way, to consume only specific foods, but, as a normal person who goes and have check ups twice an year, to see if everything is fine, I don't find it necesary to run away with the price of my life, from some food combos.
I don't create problems that I don't have hahahaha!

I eat whatever the hell I want when I want & at 34 I get told ALL the time how i don't look a day over 22-25 LOL. I'm all about eating very filling foods. I love steak, oven baked pot roast, pork chops, mac n cheese, potatoes, you name it. My fmily on both sides ate the same way & they are all fine. I hate fads & this whole OMG must not eat anything w/ GMOs or gluten trend is annoying AF. All that is is nothing more than a money making scam that sadly many are falling into. Same with organic crap.
