So a word of warning, this is an angry post. I'm sure you ladies know what I'm talking about, when it's the beginning of your night and you're making conversation with customers. I'm sure you're are familiar with that asshole who says, "this is the best money you'll ever make."
What pisses me off is that when people say this, it's a complete mind-fuck, and it's not accurate. Without sounding like a conspiracy theorist, it sounds like a sexist ploy to keep dancers "in their place" and to keep them from moving on to other well-paying jobs. I'll explain: it's very hard as a dancer to work and go to school. So most of the time, the most you can manage is 2-3 nights/week. Realistically, that number is closer to two nights/wk.
In order to make 100k before taxes, you need to make 1000/night and work EVERY SINGLE WEEK. With dancer burnout, that's hard to do. Those things provided, I'm here to say that there ARE opportunities that exist that pay just as well or more than stripping (just read Glassdoor's list of jobs paying >100k)They may require more hours, but the stress is nothing compared to the traumatic parts of dancing. And you can do those jobs well into your 60s.Think about it: not getting grabbed (see: assaulted) by strangers at your work on a nightly basis! And still making money as a female! What a fucking concept!
We can be doctors, attorneys, business owners, IT professionals/ whoever the fuck we want to be. So my point to you ladies is this: there is no shame in stripping. But never feel like that is your only option. And never let some fucking dumbass man tell you that it's all you can be. Chances
are, he's just fucking jealous because he makes half your salary. So concludes my rant. Fuck the haters 😆😈😎🖕🏼💸
