    Question Pole Classes

So I was thinking of taking pole classes, not too many places by me have them that're nearby..
I looked on Yelp this one place has it's 240.00 for 8 classes is that a lot?

I wouldn't pay that much, honestly, unless maybe it was private lessons.

Watch the place, maybe they'll offer some kind of discount sometime. (mothers day?)

They're playing on having the monopoly of being the only pole classes around unfortunately. I can't find anywhere legit and affordable near me either. >: There's one place that won't even talk to you unless you've already given them large amounts of money and another place that is total anti-strippers. Beh, you'll learn at the club regardless, we don't *need* those places for real. In time try to get your own pole for home. <3

If you want some extra practice time at the club, dayshift. :3 I used to work dayshift for 50% of the reason was time to practice at the club and the other 50% was some extra funds, because face it dayshifts are never that great. But if I could pick up a hundred or two or three extra dollars and get a several sets without anyone watching me really to fuck around on the stage I was happy. The best dancers at my club (stage wise) are all dayshift girls. They're totally inspiring to watch as well.

Doesn't sound too bad to me. There's a dance studio (all types of dance) here that does pole classes. The lady that teaches them charges $20. Solo or up to 3 girls, no price difference. Maybe see if you can just try one class instead of a package of 8 to see if you like how they're run.

Im not a fan of pole classes mostly because they're overpriced and going to a pole class once a week for 6 weeks isn't going to do much for you. better off investing in your own pole or doing dayshift

Agreed. I mainly want to learn tricks (I know they are unnecessary but they boost my confidence and make me look good) but the classes I went to you have to "graduate" each level of class first. I understand this from a legal perspective, but still. Pole classes are fun, but unless you could afford to go several times a week they don't teach you that much.

Right they should have something that would let you test out of the "walking around the pole" classes. >P Silly

i took pole classes a while back and found them no use. you're better off practicing at work. most 'tricks' that they show you are not sexy at all, and i wouldn't want to bust those out at the club.

plus where i went we did warm up for most of the class, and stupid dance moves that would get you laughed at at the club.

I found groupon classes $100 for 11 classes. Try living social too. You actually do learn and I found it helpful to learn a few moves just for show. But you're better off paying the girls at your club to teach you for an hour during day shift if theyre good. Honestly, just bring your ipad or phone and theres really good videos in the instructional video thread. Good luck!

Well I wouldn't look at from a perspective of "making more money" as opposed to "a strong fun workout". I take pole dancing classes, but I don't do it because I think it'll be better for business. I hardly ever do pole tricks at the club, mainly because I make more tips doing floor work and interacting with the customers. Guys couldn't care less if you can invert all the way up on the pole. But I like taking pole classes for myself. In my personal opinion, I think its one of the best work outs out there! I like that I'm building strength and flexibility while having a blast!

The place I go to is 240 for 12 classes. I think its worth it 100% because I find it a lot of fun.
