Default coffee making me dizzy, tired? hormone imbalance?

Hey everyone so to start off I have a doctors appointment Oct. 2nd which is so far away... but recently I haven't been feeling too great. Whenever I drink coffee or any sort of caffeine and alcohol even, I immediately want to start sleeping. This has been going on for a few months. I recently graduated college and haven't landed a job so I don't know if it's stress/anxiety or what.

So this is what's going on:
    Tired, but not napping, 24/7
Chin has cystic acne (never had acne problems)
    Dry skin
    Irritable all the time
    Weight gain, 10lbs
    Eyesight disorientated
    Dizzy

I am gluten free and dairy free 100%, I don't take birth control... but did have to take Plan B 3 times last semester.

Has anyone gone through this before? I don't know if I'm just super stressed out or what but I don't know what to do.

    Thanks in advance <33

Edit: Also I didn't start getting acne on my chin until I was dairy free!!!

can you go to a walk in clinic or something to get checked out sooner instead?

I could but I figured my GP would be a better choice. It just sucks that she has such a long waiting list for a 30 minute appointment lol. Do you think they would be able to diagnose me at a walk-in?

ive had similiar issues for the past year actually. From what I've heard its mostly anxiety related.I know i have really bad anxiety and stress and have had for a while now.
The only thing doc is going to do is give you some anxiety meds most likely something similiar to benedryl -- thats what i was given when i went to a doctor and that and like a zoloft generic--- all that did was make me so sleepy to the point where i couldnt even perform my job without near passing out . They say you need to take those kinds of meds for at least 6 weeks for it to "build up" but i quit taking mine. it didnt do shit for my anxiety just made me so sleepy that i couldnt think about anxiety. Totally pointless.

Prob need to check your hormones but idk. Go to a doctor and let them run some tests.

You could be sensitive to caffeine. No more than 150mg. Or cut it out of your diet completely and try green tea instead which has way less caffeine.

Make sure to stay hydrated that could help with dizziness. And don't stand up suddenly. Like if you are laying down or sitting then you pop up or stand up fast it will make you dizzy

And you could also be sensitive to alcohol so cut back or eliminate. Alcohol is a depressant and will make you sleepy. Especially if you're sensitive to it and your body doesn't process it.

I became really sensitive to caffeine and alcohol, too, over the last few years... my solution was to just stop drinking it. Caffeine and alcohol really aren't great for you, anyway. Personally, I think years of extreme dieting and too much alcohol/energy drinks made my body stop tolerating certain things.

It does sound like you may have a larger health problem. A blood test might help you identify any nutritional/health probems.

You may be estrogen dominant. Have your levels checked. If you are estrogen dominant, you need to avoid caffeine and alcohol , take dim supplements, eat organic food and cruciferous veggies and mushrooms. And you shold use progesterone cream if necessary. Also make sure your products are paraben free. I was estrogen dominant and had a fibroid. Not fun. I feel much better now. Also weight train to gain muscle. Like I said, go to your doctor first.

Thank you! Yes I was so worried that's what they were gonna do. I really don't want to go on medicine.

Adrinal fatigue can be triggered by coffee.
You drink a bad coffee? You can also drink too strong coffee. I drink medium roast Lavazza other coffee can me me sh$t and nervous.
Low blood sugar aka hypoglycemia symptoms just as an anxiety. Irregular heart beat, by 3 pm sleepy, nervous, shaky hands and body etc.
How many times a day you eat? What is your breakfast?
How is your vision in fact. I had a bad vision i didnt know about that and was tired because of that.

I realised it depends on the quality of coffee as to how it makes me feel...apparently as long as it has low acidity, it is OK...bad coffee makes me edgy, jittery, nauseous, dizzy...

Hope the checkup goes well, OP.

I will just add 2 cents. Ihave been coffee free for 2 months. I feel much better without coffee. Coffee + spicy food caused me the worst gastritis in my life! Plus absolutely horrible coffee withdrawals when i finally quite.i had no energy a d headaches like hangover for 3 weeks, I should have substatuted with a tea, but I was afraid to drink anything but some warm water.
Coffee is fat-yup it can wack your cholesterol level not in a good way. Coffee is acidic. It can affect your pms a bad way.
you do what you decide, but i didnt know many facts about coffee. now knowing them no ay I will subject myself to that once again.Never again. I can't afford physically and financially to waste my life on something as not worthy as coffee. Energy it gave me was very lame not sustainable.

My aunt was having really similar problems. She had electrolyte imbalances and it is some weird type of disorder that runs in her dad's side of the family. I will find out what it is called. It took her a long time to figure out what it was and that is mostly after a pretty nasty fall last year.

i use to drink, and i kid you not... upwards of 6 pots of coffee a day. Supposedly i was flirting with levels of caffeine that can cause a whole host of problems upwards of fatal doses. and I couldn't just stop... i was told to step it down, or nom on some chocolate now and then because at the sage i was at it was similar to coming off heroin as far as illness and risk of going into shock.

what it can do in some people even at low doses is spike blood pressure up - tbh the lack of glucose, gluten or gliadin at all isnt healthy UNLESS you actually HAVE crones disease, which is actually super rare, some form of diabetes or a again very rare allergic reaction. its a major source of energy, more so whats used to fuel the brain, and help oxygenate the blood - low levels of it cause disorientation and mental fatigue, fatigue, lower natural insulin levels ( aka low blood sugar ) with lower than normal blood sugars coffee or others that have higher levels of caffeine can have the exact same effects your describing - and not all coffee has the same caffeine levels

so really from all my experience? sounds like your really describing Hypoglycemia

Similar to the way a car needs gas to run, your body and brain need a constant supply of sugar (glucose) to function properly. If glucose levels become too low, as occurs with hypoglycemia, it can cause these signs and symptoms:

    Heart palpitations
    Fatigue
    Pale skin
    Shakiness
    Anxiety
    Sweating
    Hunger
    Irritability
    Tingling sensation around the mouth
    Crying out during sleep

As hypoglycemia worsens, signs and symptoms may include:

Confusion, abnormal behavior or both, such as the inability to complete routine tasks
Visual disturbances, such as blurred vision
    Seizures
    Loss of consciousness

People with severe hypoglycemia may appear as if they're intoxicated. They may slur their words and move clumsily.

Many conditions other than hypoglycemia may cause these signs and symptoms. A blood sample to test your blood sugar level at the time of these signs and symptoms is how to know for sure that hypoglycemia is the cause.

so long story get a full battery of blood work not just hormones, it honestly sound more like something is lacking or excessive in your system thats causing a domino effect

also married to a biologist so i get slammed with these lil factoids constantly
