Default I must share my lovely audition experience at deja Vu Hollywood blvd

Just as some insight, ive danced on and off for years and I'm not shy or awkward on stage, nor am I out of shape, the only other time I thought it was a no at an audition they ended up calling me the next week asking if I want to start that night bc he was in a bad mood the night I was in and put me and two other girls on a tiny ass stage (body shop west Hollywood) and told the three of us he'd call us.
I didn't think he actually would.
But anyways so what happened was

I go there the lady manager at first didn't seem mean, but she asked about my out of state ID then told me to fill out the paperwork, get dressed, and she photo copied my social.

I get dressed and hand her the papers and I noticed her whole attitude was indifferent to me, I even texted my friend like "idk if she's just trying really hard to seem like she's in charge or if she honestly just hates me lol"
So she's like it's two songs they're already picked out
The two songs were Jason Mraz I'm yours and du hast by rimestien or whatever.
That totally unsexy German band lol
Idk if it was random or if that was the managers doing
The place was also empty not one customer was there or even a do it was a voice over recording announcing girls
And the manager wasn't really watching , I made sure I danced the whole time like I didn't just sit on the stage but I wasn't giving it my best show but definitely not bad.
I didn't climb the pole but I did a few spinny pole tricks (actually three during each song so six) and I even like landed two of those tricks in a split and then like twerked on the ground did sexy floorwork from there , like I did a pretty decent job, I thought.
Sure I could have done better , but I don't think it would have mattered , after I got off stage the manager had already disappeared into her office , so I go in I and she tells me to get dressed so I already know it's a no but she's like "it's going to be a no right now , we generally hire only girls who do more pole tricks"
    Lol

I wasnt like upset about it , I honestly only wanted to work that night there bc I spent too much money on accident the night before and couldn't afford the Uber to where I usually work at lol

It was just so awkward and weird , like I felt kinda like even if I climbed the pole and could dance sexy to the odd choice of music while breathing fire she would have told me no for whatever reason. She actually was like you have a great look so if you want to reapply with another manager theyll probably hire you. Like what
Hahaha has anyone else ever had a bizarre audition like this ?
I don't think she was like jealous or a hater , maybe cranky or new and only trying to hire the best
Or maybe she just has had issues with girls who look like me and was judging me off that I have no clue but I had to share.

Dancing and stripping to Jason Mrazs " I'm Yours" !?!? : DAFUQ!!!! I seriously have to wonder if that was type of cruel intention for the people that work there to get their rocks off and laugh?

Thank you for sharing this gem.

Lol whoa she sounds a bit like she had something against you and the only reason i say this is because...

Knew two girls who were total n00bs and couldn't dance jack squat get hired there. One did not have a body or look for dancing at all i was shocked. But her friend was ultra hot so i think they made an exception. But both were deer in headlights bad on stage. And they danced to some weird funk on stage. The manager that hired them was a guy though. This was around this time last year.

Sorry that happened to u. Female managers tend to be stricter or weirder with their hiring. It probably has something to do with a subconscious internal competition thing. Don't asked me why but I've seen female managers turn down great dancers and hire questionable ones. Strip clubs are weird lol

I worked at the North Hollywood one only for a couple nights though.
The fee system was weird like if you made a schedule it was less and if you worked five hours it was less, but bc that place is the Walmart of strip clubs i remembered it being easy to make $150 bc I'd just sit in a chair and during the blue light special guys would ask me for a lap dance lol
I feel like every where in la has retarded fees, I'm working at knockouts in Arcadia and lately I don't feel like even going bc basically everything I make goes to Uber , fees, tip out. But I'm also going in like twice a week on Tuesdays when it's $2 beers and the guys are confused why the girls are even there lol

Rammstein isn't THAT bad when a clubs busy bc guys like it , but during an audition in a dead club I want to stomp around the stage the way I imagine the singer does when he sings it.
Like as soon as those songs played (Jason was first) I knew that she was trying to make things difficult for me lmfaooo

You can tell she set you up for failure not only by the individual song choices, but the different genres in one set. At my club, we are not allowed to mix genres for a stage set. We can't do a pop song then a rock, they both have to be rock or rap or whatever goes together.
And picking the songs for you?? For what reason? So very odd

I'm just really traumatized that they played the JM " I'm Yours" song LMAO...... what a jerk off.

I guess I could understand the Ramstein if you came out with the big black patent leather platform boots and a patent leather outfit on or like an outfit Jennifer Tilly would have wore as the character she played in "Dancing At the Blue Iguana" but to just randomly play it.... odd.....

Living in the LA area reminds me of living in the NYC area.... the best place to live on earth when you have a shit ton of money but it can be really sucky when funds get tight and it feels like everything you make is just to cover basic stuff. Blah... but it still beats living some place where there is no action IMO. IDK how good it is anymore but I had heard girls who lived in LA/OC driving/ flying to Vegas for the weekend and either dancing or being a bottle girl and making killer money.... but those days may be gone but it could be worth a shot.

    Hope things turn around ^_^

Body Shop fucking sucks anyways. I worked at that club one night a couple years ago and completely hated it. Few guys and the ones who were there were cheap and too many girls. If anything its good you didn't work.

That just sounds bizarre, and I agree-Jason Mraz is a really odd choice to play at a strip club! I've heard Rammstein a bunch of times though. Usually managers don't give a shit how you dance on stage-sounds like she had something against you for some reason and used that as an excuse. I was a horrible stage dancer my first time auditioning and I still got hired. lol

Oh, I never worked at a club where doing pole tricks was a requirement either! Some of the clubs I worked at didn't even have a pole.

I stripped for 12 years & at about 20 different clubs in 3 different states. Not once did I have to get undress or on stage and audition. Walked in, filled out the paper work & went to work the next night shift. So these stories just are unreal to me, I believe y'all just not my experience that I lived.

Would you really want to work with someone that had such horrible taste in music? Why did she pick out the music, the dj should have asked you what you wanted or picked out something himself. Never heard of a manager picking out music in a strip club.

Who cares if the girl can dance or do pole tricks. You can learn on the job. I only had one pole trick which was holding on to it yet fighting with the fucker when I had one to many to drink about 3 times a year.

The owner could have made a statement at a staff meeting that the club needed better performers who could do pole tricks. Playing the horrible music of two different genres to see if you can dance to anything thrown at you. As an on going joke another stripper & I would play music totally opposite of what the other could dance too when we worked on stage at the same time. She loved death metal so I played country music & won.

The other lady on the 3rd stage hated both of us, which just made us laugh harder.

I've seen a lot of girls dance to Rammstein, especially if they're doing a dominatrix themed stage dance for a buck's show. That's the first I've heard of someone not getting hired because they wanted girls who do more pole tricks. I was told by a manager that was auditioning me once that I should get some pole lessons and come back, but I think it's just coz she didn't have the guts to tell me I should hit the gym like other managers. I know she was trying to not hurt my feelings but it was more helpful when I've been told by management to "tone up". Maybe it's as simple as they have enough dancers, so can afford to be really picky.
