Lightbulb If you could move anywhere for dancing, where would you go?

I need change and I want to move out of this city I've been in my whole life. I'm in central Cali, I really love the New England region, particularly Boston but I hear dancing isn't great there. Same with Los Angeles. New Orleans and Vegas are currently on my mind as the dancing is way better there (people GO to Vegas for the strippers) My question to all you ladies, especially those that have actually traveled and experienced the different atmospheres within the industry, where would you go if you could move anywhere? This would not be a long term move, just 3-6 months to get out of this town, experience something different.

Vegas, or Atlanta if I was more skilled with my stage and pole work.

Yep, I'm definitely going to Vegas! I'll try to get into school over there, and drown in money

There are only two clubs in Boston. My gf said she did very well at Centerfolds and she was only a massage girl.

I would go visit and work in both cities before you actually move. See where your hustle works the best. I considered moving to Vegas but know that I couldn't work there all the time. It's an exhausting place for me. I stick to 2 week strip trips.

i love working in nola and would totally choose there. but most girls seem to prefer vegas. i personally didn't enjoy living there and think it's better for the occasional trip.

NOLA, I've never danced there but I love the city and there's definitely potential. Or maybe in another country like Canada or Australia. I've always been curious about working outside of the US but I'm not into the Guam thing.

I personally found Boston to be terrible as well though I did well at other clubs in Mass and CT. RI was decent but the clubs are pretty dirty. I think South Florida is pretty bad too. I danced one day in Baltimore and hated it! If I could chose anywhere and know I was going to make money probably Portland or Austin or some other part of TX because I like it there; or maybe, maybe Phoenix.

I think I'd pick Guam. Always hear about women of color doing really well there (maybe not),but never danced outside the US yet.

I would probably pick Vegas...but I couldn't imagine living there. I can only do Vegas for one week or else I'd go crazy.

Yeah, that's the thing. Vegas can be great, as it has low cost of living and good earnings potential. But you'd have to be able to get down with the desert, tourism, etc. Not talking trash; just something to consider for quality of life!

Gia, I wouldn't waste your talent on Phoenix... It's only good 4 months of the year!

Definitely Vegas. There's a great selection of clubs and they don't require you to stick to a schedule.

Vegas for me. I've been tempted to move there for years due to the low cost of living, and I love the heat so I'd be just fine in the desert. Maybe when my lease is up...

I actually love working in South Florida when we're in strip club season which tends to start around late Oct - early Nov. From May onwards, it's so grueling I stop stripping and turn to other avenues for income. It's not the easiest place to work, but there's a lot of opportunity if you know what you're doing. Plus South Florida clubs are mostly Latina so if you're a white girl all of a sudden you're "exotic" and where else in the US is that true? Lol

Yeah. I only danced in a couple of clubs. I'm sure there are other clubs that are flooded with white girls (e.g. Tens, probably?). But i chose dayshift (was trying to regulate my sleep schedule..lolzies) at clubs that had lots of Latinas working. Shrugs.

I have travel danced to Vegas 6 times and honestly..vegas is very very overhyped. The money is very hit or miss and most of the girls escort...like 90% or more. It's the "norm" there. So if you are ok with that and ok with getting propositioned 10000x in a night, then go for it. But it's hit or miss and personally I only go there for bigger conventions, also Vegas is extremely seasonal.. so you'd need to figure out what to do for money 3-5 months out of the year when it's not good. Vegas in my opinion is scary to dance in, I've been assaulted in the VIP's and they pretty much abandon you when you are there, I felt very unsafe. 2 other girls I have travel danced with also had horrible VIP experiences and were crying by the end of the first night... I've also heard horror stories of girls getting raped at SR. So I wouldn't ever do that fulltime. Find somewhere that feels safe and consistent for work dancing and keep Vegas travel only. I dunno about Boston, I'd feel trapped if dancing didn't end up good there. I'd do some trips and see what you personally think.

^That's a great idea - to test out the waters with a couple of work trips!
