Default New STI to be aware of

    Hi all,

Mycoplasma has been newly categorized as an STI. It existed before but researchers weren't sure if it was sexually transmitted until recently. It is not currently part of a regular STI screening so if you feel you have symptoms you must ask for it specifically. Symptoms can be similar to BV or even like a mild UTI. Untreated it can cause infertility and PID later on and also increase your risk for HIV. Condoms will reduce your risk of contracting it and for now it is not known to be passed on orally and via anal sex. I will be requesting it when I get my regular STI testing done. Here's some more info: https://www.self.com/story/mycoplasma-genitalium

I'm seriously thinking of going protected even for oral from now on. I'm already scared enough of hsv. Ugh.

Honestly, I am more concerned that women are exposed to this STI from their regular partners who they might not use condoms with than with customers who we are way more likely to use condoms with. Because of course males are carriers who rarely show symptoms, it is easy to get this way. Make sure to request to be tested for it if you have EVER had condomless sex in case you do need treatment. And then wrap it up from here on or get your regular partner tested/treated before going without condoms

It is a scary world out there full of bugs! And antibiotic resistance is something to be seriously concerned about as well. My issue with using a condom during oral is that my regulars will NOT go for it. I don't see any new customers right now (maybe will have to again next year) so these are all guys who are used to getting a bj with no condom and I feel like they would either take their money elsewhere or want a way lower price this is on my mind often too though
