Yikes that is a lot of cases. The city should do a public health drive and offer the Hepatitis A vaccine to people who are at risk to help slow the spread of the virus.

    This is an isolated incident.
    San Diego is so huge.
Most of SD is beyond beautiful, and most of the people have money. It's clean and very pristine.
I used to live there back in 2011, and still visit the area. North County mainly.
But, it was only this summer that I saw the area in question.
While visiting a friend, I took a wrong turn, and ended up downtown, and downtown adjacent.
Omg! Dirty. Homeless people had camped out everywhere. Even in the grass next to the freeway entrance.
It was trippy, and so sad to see that.
Unfortunately the homeless population is growing leaps and bounds in socal.
I mean, my last Apt in LA was like that.
The area was ritzy, rents were $2000-$5000, just in my building. And surrounding homes and condos were well over a million dollars.
Yet, even with security guards, homeless men would sleep against my building, and piss and poop all around it.
One day, I was in the residents service office, which faced the courtyard.
A homeless guy pulled out his dick and started pissing. Broad daylight!
It was then that I knew I had to move.
So happy that I did, because I use to wear only flip flops.
The city I live in now is so clean that you could eat right off the street.

Gosh, I sure hope no one thinks I'm malining any area, just wanted to bring awareness

One place I visit seems to have an ongoing cleanliness issue so I learned something too

It's unsurprising. California's homeless problems are horrifying.

    Edit to add.

This discussion reminded me of my old neighbors who were HIV positive. Luckily they managed to afford public housing on Disability & didn't die homeless. Unfortunately......a lot of people with illness & lack of family end up out on the street. It's terrible but that's our national reality.
