They're good if you aren't looking to upgrade a computer and looking for something that doesn't take up much space. Most people that warn others away from All-in-1's do so because if you ever wanted to add more memory, upgrade the gaming card, etc you wouldn't be able to. I don't think it would be a waste if you bought it for camming because it seems like every few years we have to get a new computer anyway. Also if you ever wanted to get a new computer years after getting the All-in-1 because say the specs were no longer enough for camming you could always just use the All-in-1 as a media center and personal/vanilla computer in your living room or bedroom (can even mount it to the wall if it has Vesa mounting). So imo it would never really be a waste. I posted these a while ago in the Fall - Winter 2016 Cammodel Computer Shopping thread.

I love my HP Envy laptop but the screen is pulling apart & I can't close it. Which now makes me leery of all HP products. So not only does a person need to be mindful of the specs but look up videos for that computer on youtube for how to repair in order to see if it has any defects that pop up in a year & how many people had them.
There was a major lawsuit with the HP Envy Laptop hinges, but by the time I read about it to file had already passed on the class action law suit.
While I am constantly on it, never dropped it. I baby it, so the screen pulling apart & being held together by clothes pins is just trashy. Had an Asus before that has a hinge issue too, but it is 5 years old. I did not like the Asus, the keyboard needed lots more pressure to type. It constantly was resizing the font. It also wasn't a touch screen & Windows 10 is geared more for touch screen.
I prefer laptops because always switching from the bedroom to livingroom to be on it. If you are just camming on it rather than editing videos then an all in one should be more than fine as long as it is an i7 & has 12GB of ram.
If you are editing 4k or VR videos then more RAM & a SDD card come into the equation. I need to buy a new laptop, but I'm looking at a spending $2000 so that editing in Premiere Pro & having the videos by faster with the rendering process.
Remember it is a work machine, fancy isn't a priority. If I didn't have to do editing then wouldn't spend more than $1000 on a new computer.

Keep in mind the Intel i9 core processor is still new & expensive but within a 6 months to a year it should come down in price & force all the i7s down even further in price.
I'm trying to hold off of purchasing a new laptop for when that happen. Which I'm thinking will be about Christmas time.

I just ordered this tonight. Gets here on Friday. Very excited. Read the revues on it & they were all pretty positive. Now, I had to step up my game due to editing videos & thus spent about $600 more than I usually do on a new laptop.
Daily in one way or another & 90% of it work relate, about 12 to 14 hours. Usually have to buy a new machine every two years. But when I break down the cost do how much money I make on it. Say if I just made $30,000 a year, for less than a $2000 investment it really puts things into perspective. Plus if I use it two years then the cost of it is about $800 a year.
Since it is the only big ticket item I have to buy every few years, can't complain at all. I were in Real Estate would have to invest in buying or leasing a real expensive luxury car as a part of the job. Which is more costly in a couple of months than this laptop.
Honestly in awe for how much we can potentially make compared to how little is needed as investment to do it. When lots of jobs or companies cost way more to operate & turn a profit.
The pro of an all in one is exactly that it is all in one and it doesn´t take up much space and looks all instagram and pinterest picture perfect on your desk.
On the other side, it is all in 1, if 1 thing breaks, you´re screwed. It is also a lot more difficult to have them repared.
I can´t remember the exact source, but I heard in the news a while back that electronics are now especially made not to last as long and to be impossible or difficult to repair just to keep us buying and replacing stuff. This will be one of those items.

I really only want the one I chose for one screen split camming. I don't like the dual screen look or TV, look.

Yeah, I have an HP Envy Touch. The hinges and bottom have major issues. Mine is still in good condition outside of a few screws missing so the bottom is partly unhinged and my ethernet chord having to be taped in. That and TSA damaged my screen a little on my last flight.
