Default compliment or insult "I never met anyone [insert sex work job title]"

When you are talking with someone and you tell them what you do,

and they respond with "I never met anyone like you" Do you take it as a compliment or insult.

I am starting to get fed up with it and getting a little insulted by it.

I want to come up with some sarcastic remark back.

I suppose it all on depends on the delivery and tone. Someone saying I've never met someone like you can be a wonderful compliment. However, if it is meant as insult is tell them I'd never met someone so rude and mannerless. Maybe they want to pick up a copy of Emily Post to brush up on their manners.

I live in Miami, never hear that statement.
They probably have & just don't know it. You don't have to defend, it is a job. I've never met a Nuclear Scientist before & I'd be curious. More you act like it isn't a big deal, more likely they won't either. Be totally perplexed that they haven't.

I think if you're hearing it a lot it could be your inner subconscious thought/fears/etc reflecting (through other people) back to you.

If it bothers you then hang out with more open minded people

Take it as a huge compliment and thank the person profusely. If he is trying to insult you, that should get to him.
