Default Worried about hair getting damaged by heavy smoke in DR

I've got ass-length hair that's really my "thing", and I'm really worried that it's going to get damaged by the heavy smoke in the DR, since the other girls literally just sit around and smoke when they're not on stage. I avoid the DR as much as I can, but my hair (and all my stuff) absolutely reeks of smoke at the end of the night. Any ideas for avoiding this, maybe some sort of protective spray or something for my hair?

I do not know 2nd hand smoke would damage your hair but, I could be wrong. I think smokers get ratty hair cause they are generally unhealthy. There's many embers here who are hairdressers so maybe they can weigh in. I would say use clarifying shampoo and a good conditioner.

I wish I could help you hun but I just wanted to say I feel your pain.

I used to work at smoking clubs and there was definitely a difference in the state of my hair and skin vs nonsmokimg clubs. And I don't even smoke :/

    Hopefully someone has a solution

Its really sad (and rude) people smoke cigarettes indoor in tight spaces.

Only thing you can do is avoid them or afterwards drive with windows down for about 20 min and let the fresh air blow through your hair

Could the club enforce a non smoking policy and apply it only to the dressing room? My club did that and it's great (especially for someone like me that's a non smoker). And dancers WILL let other girls know ASAP if they try and smoke in the dressing room...which is nice that all girls are on the same page. Girls and guys can smoke everywhere except in the dressing room, Managers office and in the back where the alcohol is stored.

Hair mists are great - you can find them at Sephora and they're meant to remove odors from smoke and food. I use the Flowerbomb hair mist and it's a lifesaver since I try to wash my hair every other day or less. My only other suggestion would be to be very diligent with your hair care. Maybe try a deep cleansing with Dawn dish soap (yes it's safe, that's what they use to clean off wildlife stuck in oil spills) and lemon, and deep condition once a week.

Ooh, I'll give the hair mists a shot. That sounds neat. Good point about hair care; diligence there would help, I'm sure!

Gross. we all have our bad habits, but seriously inside! I’m too much of a health nut to work in a smoking club if there’s another choice.

My dancer friend got COPD from working in smoking clubs. I know I’m going to sound like a mom, but I’d advise any girl to find a club that doesn’t allow smoking inside. Seriously, she was like 35 and has COPD for the rest of her life! Take care of yourself.

I'd be way more worried about your skin than hair. I guess try and avoid the DR , come in all ready, drop your bags, and exit. Only come back in eat and freshen up in the bathroom.
Bring a spray ..i like mixing water with some conditioner, shake,,and spritz on hair (works for curls and waves great)
Otherwise I guess you could get "hair perfume" at ulta
