    Default Tipping the DJ?

So the club I work at, the don't require us to go on stage, so I don't. How much should I tip out the dj without being stingy or too generous? My house fee is higher since I don't go on the stage which is fine. We can charge whatever we want for dances, topless $40, and I'll only do full nude if they buy 4 songs in advance.

Men are idiots and I love it

But that being said, they don't take anything from the dances I do. Last night I tipped the dj out $5?

$10 is the industry standard. I'd just do that, unless they specifically help you make more.

I usually tip $10 whether I go on stage or not, but I'll tip more if he goes out of his way to play a song I like, or if he gives me a kick ass introduction.

I know this is a little bit of an odd answer but I would say it depends on the size of the club. If it is a mega club and you are not going on stage and are one girl in an army of girls, they standard $10.00 seems right but I would give $20.00 when you have a good night.

If the club is a little bit smaller, you really want the dj to be your friend and here is why- there may come a point in time that you have to go on stage (because it's the beginning of the shift and you're the only girl ready, because it's a bachelor party and someone requests you or there are not enough girls or whatever. The DJ can give you a good intro. Plus, at a lot of smaller clubs the clientele all know the DJ as well, and he can refer customers to you. In these smaller clubs make sure you are taking care of the dj. Many of the places I have worked I the standard DJ tip out was 10% or $10.00. So if you make 700.00, be prepared to tip the DJ 70.00.
