Duh How do you know when its time to leave a club?

The obvious answer is when you stop making money, but sometimes money can be seasonal. Like tonight I made $200 on a Saturday....and that’s ridiculous! I just feel like trying other clubs at this point. When do you personally decide to leave a club? How long do you wait it out when you are going through a dry money spell?

When you dread going in more often than not. And if you can tell it's not just you, but all the other dancers are not making good money either.

The very minute that thought pops into your head. If the money at that club is seasonal then go somewhere else during the off season. You don't owe any club loyalty, cause they are NOT loyal to you & consider each performer replaceable. Well, so is every club.

You are staying in the off season hurting your income for what? What are they doing to stay busy all year round so that your income never suffers? So you are supposed to tough it out for them so to help their bottom line? I don't think so.

You should be loyal to ONLY yourself & your bank account. All these clubs are ran by men and NONE of them have a single bit of loyalty to any woman who works there.

Go ahead and try another club it doesn't mean you can't come back to this one. I mean, you don't even gave to "leave" your current club. They don't need to know what you're doing when you aren't there so go ahead and try some shifts somewhere else. Girls bounce back and forth between multiple clubs all the time.

Depends on various things. You're talking about last night, which was Halloween weekend night. My club was full of garbage customers as well. It was just a bad weekend for clubs, ya know?

So... Is last night a one-off? How long has it been bad? Is there a pattern to good/bad nights of the week? Exactly how slow are we talking (are you making 25% of what you normally make or 60%?)

Also account for other things. Are there other clubs viable to try out? Do you feel at home and respected/friendly with your staff and fellow dancers? Is it an easy commute? Do you have regulars who wouldn't follow you to a new club? Weigh it all out. For example, if the new club gets you $100 more a shift, but you'd be doubling your commute and having really nasty management or catty girls, I would personally just stay put. Mental health & not hating your job is important too.

IMO, if it's just a slow couple weeks, and it's not season-related, ride it out. Look at your shift average after a couple months. Sam is right that if your city has a 'bad season' you could certainly do well to travel then. But otherwise, take everything into account. The grass isn't always greener, and if it is, it might be on a septic tank

You are an independent contractor, you can work anywhere you want. Go try someplace new, at the very least you will come back with a refreshed & ready to rock it out attitude.

Which maybe the reason for a dry spell. Sometimes a change of scenary is needed for you. Gives your regulars & those who may come in on a regular basis but never spent money a chance to miss you.

That's true, but lots of other dancers also have vanilla jobs or kids and can't just travel around freely whenever they want to.

well if it's end of the month AND near a holiday, money will always be weird. There are certain clubs Ive found that end of the month is definitely 'rent week' and in addition to the customers sucking , there will be like 50-70+ dancers working, so it will typically make money bad until like the 5th of the next month haha.. but then there are other clubs that operate more off of out of town customers or conventions and so the 'rent week' thing doesn't effect it so much. So id pay attention to that.
However on average.... Id say about 3 nights. If I have a bad night, ok... fine; if I have 2 bad nights in a row (below $400) it really starts to effect my self-esteem for some reason and I get discouraged and don't usually wanna be there, but if I go in the 3rd time and again have a shit night... I will usually take a week off after that, or switch clubs for a bit just because my energy will be better.

When you work with 50 year olds who complain about having to pay a 5 dollar house fee. Not a good sign.

It seems clubs are one half dozen of the other. Either money is great, but the people suck. Or the people are awesome, but not a lot of money.

It can’t hurt to try. Anytime I switched clubs was usually was better.
