    Default Cancer Hustle?

Last night, a girl opened her conversation with me by telling me that she has terminal cancer. In a thread I just read on a customer site, two other guys discussed hearing similar claims from girls they met in other clubs.

Is this a thing now? Are more girls using claims of terminal illnesses as part of their hustle?

I am in a lot of clubs in a lot of cities each year and I thought that I had heard just about everything, but this is a new one for me. Does this work on anyone? Because in all honestly it was a tremendous buzz kill for me and I left the club soon after.

If she gets donations & doesn't have it then she can be arrested for FRAUD.

I had that said to me back a year or so ago. I assume it is a type of "pity hustle" if it isn't true. It would play on your humanity, empathy and sympathy just like the "kids and no money for food" or the "getting thrown out without rent" hustle if it is a hustle. Those sort of things are hard to believe due to the cynical atmosphere in a club but they are real events for some and thus they could be true.

Cancer hustle? Dear gosh! If she is claiming to have cancer when she doesn't and she gets money from people under the belief that she has cancer, then that is fraud. She can actually face legal charges from that. There's a dumbass woman in my home state who did that, falsely claimed to have terminal cancer, collected a large amount of donations from people, and had charges brought against her once she was found a fraud, and is in prison for that. I don't see why people would joke or lie about having cancer. Using terminal cancer as a hustle is wrong. I don't blame you. I would've left too.

Cotdamn! not just regular cancer but terminal cancer?!?

Idk if she was lying or telling the truth but I would have said "show me the receipts then...."

Too many people using these weird hustles. Just the other day I saw a man with his kid out in the freezing cold on the corner asking for money. They looked like normal people like not broke homeless drug addicts. Who does that? People using kids, pets, terminal illness - anything to compel you to give. Its either pure desperation or evil greed. Idk which one but I want to see some evidence of a genuine hardship before I fall victim to a con artist.

Trying to step in her shoes: Even if I did have terminal cancer - having an illness is not something to just broadcast like that to any and everyone. I'd rather set up a gofundme or something easier so I could rest and enjoy the remainder of my time.

Just me but if I have even a minor cold there is no way I'd be busting my ass in a club.

Honestly I don't have a huge sample size because I only know a couple people who died of cancer but if it is TERMINAL i.e. they're going to die #1 they would be in no physical shape to work in a club, and #2 why on earth would you waste your last moments there?

Side note- I approached a customer and his friend once, did standard, 'how are you doing tonight" thing and the one guy (who did look really sick) just straight up replies, "pretty awful, dying of cancer" and I just had to kinda move along because the only thing my brain could come up with was "let's get some dances before it's too late then" and I was sure as hell not saying that one

assuming it's true i think some girls are just clueless and have no filter. i've heard strippers tell guys about their periods, STD's, boyfriend problems, past trauma like being raped, beaten, molested etc.. and i'm like wtf is wrong with you?! no one wants to hear that in a strip club, they came to have a good time.

but if these girls are really lying about cancer then they are idiots and deserve jail time. i don't know why in the world you would do that anyways, it can't possibly make them that much money. the majority of guys are majorly turned off by the pity hustle

It's unfortunate if she really has terminal cancer, but that's fucked up if she's using it as a sympathy hustle. In any case, it's a buzzkill.

Let’s hope it was just a terrible hustle. Much better that than a person who had to dance with the pain of cancer or chemo and only a few months to live.

Idk, I once did a dance for a guy, his friend told me he had cancer, (he had a shaved head).
    Who knows?
If a dancer is saying that, it would seem to be unlikely since the job's stressful & tiring for a person w/normal health

Thinking U meant it joking, but I believe there could already be a cure, for real.

    Yeah she was joking.
But as a med school student I'll say there has been huge advancements in certain cancer treatments. But each cancer is different and there will likely never be a cure for every type of cancer.
Would you believe me if I said I do it because I like it?

If it was terminal, no way she'd have the energy to be working in that type of environment. Also, ppl with cancer tend to keep that to themself... it's already stressful as is.

    Aweful fake hustle.

I worked at a club a girl actual had it and couldn't work. On friday night we would do a two song stage set with all of us on stage and the money went to her and its not like they said her stage name just that it was someone who worked there. some girls complained about doing it but everyone still did it. plus the club allowed her to come in just to see champagne customers she had for years. my guess if it was real shouldn't be sharing it with just anyone.
