Dizzy Not getting hired just because the club is slow?

Since I moved to the LA area I've been trying to start dancing again without any success. There aren't many topless clubs to choose from and I also don't want to work in some dive in some unsafe neighborhood. I auditioned at 2 places and got rejected at both. For the first one the reason was that they wanted high level of pole skills which I don't posses but I can understand this,so whatever.

However the second place really surprised me. They didn't require high level of pole skills, while I was waiting to audition I watched 3 of their girls on the stage I didn't do anything more than I normally do but I still didn't get hired. I couldn't believe it. While I was waiting I saw many of the girls and 70 percent of those I saw l
didn't look better than me-neither face nor body or outfit. Some of them were wearing swimwear, others cheap and unflattering lingerie. There were even a few that were out of shape(flabby midsection etc). I believe I did well on the stage. Another girl that auditioned with me didn't get hired either but she did really bad on the stage, but she looked better than the girls that they currently had as well. It was a Friday night so they were supposed to have a decent selection.

I am 24 years old, 5'7, 115 lbs, almost waist length hair(no extensions),no tattoos. I know I am not old at 24 but people normally assume I am even younger than that.

The manager said that they weren't hiring right now because it was really slow. But then why would they let people audition? The only other reason that comes to mind is that when I talked to him before auditioning he asked me how far of a drive I live and when I said almost an hour he didn't seem to like that response.

I just really don't have any experience with being rejected by clubs. I have danced in Austin and San Francisco before, I was making really good money. That's really new and unpleasant for me.

When I was leaving the club the security guy in front of the club asked how it went and he looked really surprised when I told him that I didn't get hired. He looked like he thought I was joking.

    Has anyone had similar experiences?

The one where I got rejected because of my dancing moves was the Library in OC, the second one I would rather not name because of the way I described the girls working there, I don't want to offend anybody.

I live right between OC and LA. The fact that there aren't many topless clubs in this whole big area makes it really frustrating. I haven't danced full nude before but I may consider it. I just have one more place I want to check out-Spearmint rhino in Torrance and then I will either try full nude or go to Vegas.

don't take it too personally at the library, i've worked there on and off for years.. and nowadays when i visit it seems like they all have a chip on their shoulder and enjoy turning girls down for no reason bc everyone wants to work there and they know it. they've rejected more than one of my very attractive friends and refused to give a reason. they are always hiring though.. if they feel like it

sounds like they give you the run around. those are standard manager excuses for why they say no, and it's usually not the real reason. why can't they just be honest?

Clubs are always hiring new girls, and what do they care if business is slow? You owe them house no matter what, so taking you on wouldn't affect them in any way, shape, or form. It sounds like there's another reason why they aren't hiring you. I wouldn't take it personally either way. From your physical description it sounds like you shouldn't have a problem getting hired elsewhere.
