Default What natural supplements do you take?

The long hair thread inspired me to ask about this. I thought it would be a good idea to share the natural supplements we take and to explain the benefits they give. I think it will be a good sharing and learning experience. I am always looking for good natural supplements.

I take L-Theanine and Diatomaceous Earth. I got started on L-Theanine for my anxiety. I was researching natural supplements to help with anxiety so I wouldn't have to rely on addictive benzos. It is also good for memory, attention, for me personally it helps my appetite tremendously. It does work very well for my anxiety but it did honestly take some time to really start kicking in for me to notice a big change in my anxiety even though it is supposed to start immediately. It probably just affects others in a different way and took some time for me to get used to it and for it to really "soak in". I also notice that my memory is much sharper and I feel sharper in all aspects of things basically. It comes in handy for my work because I don't feel as easily distracted and I am able to think much clearer.

The Diatomaceous Earth is great for detoxing and a long list of other benefits. I haven't had a migraine in many months now after taking it and I used to get 2-3 migraines a month. My teeth feel much stronger, my nails and hair do as well. My skin is clearer. I feel all around much healthier.

    So what do you take?

Vitamin D daily (I live where there aren't many sunny days. MycomMunity immune mushroom blend, went from getting sick 5-6x a year to one tiny cold in a year. Magnesium to, ahem, help my digestion along I WISH L-theanine worked for me, but it didn't... probably because my GABA receptors are too down-regulated from anxiety meds working on it...

Evening Primrose Oil, it's good for hormone imbalance. I used to take Tonalin CLA a lot. I take L Lysine too, for immune support.

You should start with a teaspoon in the mornings on an empty stomach. After a week or so of taking it increase it to a tablespoon and continue it that way. Some people even increase to 2-3 tablespoons after a while but I say take it as your body adjusts to it. You are going to feel like shit for a good 2-3 weeks after starting it and a lot of people give up on it because of that. It causes your body to rid itself of all of the toxins in it and they get absorbed until they are flushed out so it will make you feel like shit for a little while but once it is all over with then you will feel great. I love this stuff.

I posted this in the long hair thread as well but I will post it here too since it is probably more relevant to a thread like this. This guy does a good job explaining it. It does kill insects and stuff, but food grade is made for ingestion. The kind that kills bugs is a different form. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PYdIQEqYM4

Alright I'm gonna do this during the holidays. I don't need to be cranky at work. Lol. I know that detox mood swing. Ugh.

    Thanks for the tip!

Lol right. It sucked going through the whole detox phase and I was a complete bitch. Haha. I didn't want to be around anyone, I was like leave me the hell alone. But once it was over it was really worth it

    Vitamin D (sunshine vitamin)
Astaxanthin: an antioxidant, it's good for everything like eyesight, energy, anti aging etc...
whole food multi vitamin (Mega food brand is my favorite)
I also don't but any vitamins that have magnesium stearate in them, I heard that can block absorption of vitamins
