Default Want to become a dancer, nervous and a little discouraged.

Hello all I’m a curvy, chocolate, thick fit dancer. I don’t have the flattest tummy just yet, but I work out and I’m working on it. Can I wear certain bottoms to “hide” this while I’m working at it? I’ve recently decided to become a dancer. Auditioned at one club where I didn’t see any black dancers, and the manager told me to call him in a week or so BC they are slow (which they were dead when I arrived) I asked for his feedback since it’s my first time and I auditioned but wasn’t hired on the spot. He said nothing. Said I was nice looking and was comfy on stage. I called two weeks later and he said still slow, but when I gave my name, he still had my info. Said he wouldn’t keep it if I weren’t even to be considered. What does that really mean?.....I’m not trying to be at a club that’s only for black dancers. Nothing against us at all, the customers in those clubs usually want you to do way too much for a dollar and I’m not trying to have that “twerk all day” image as a dancer. Sometimes yes, shaking and magically moving it around, of course. Just not all day as if i were in Nelly’s tip drill video. Most dancers I’ve been seeing around are stick skinny and not black I don’t fit in that category of course. Smooth chocolate complexion nice boobs big round butt (thx lunges ....thick pretty toned thighs. I have meat. I’m a woman lol. I am def something to hold on too, not runway style at all. My main question is has anyone been to Gold Club Chicago or scores? Do they hire women like me? Do you know any other Midwest clubs that do also? Your knowledgeable response would be appreciated

I'm not in the same area as you but i work in a club where the thick "twerk all day" black girls make baaaaaank. I get the customer thing but as for dance style i don't see why not just go where the money is

^yeah you can make just as much, if not more money at those kinds of places. they aren't just twerking for single a dollar.. people throw a lot of money at some of those girls.

OP if you want to work in upscale clubs you need to lose as much weight as possible. it sounds like they don't really want to hire you and are giving you the runarond. i don't know why clubs do that, but they almost always beat around the bush in some way when turning us down, it's annoying and misleading.

Thanks for your input! I know....it sounds crazy right? Why wouldn’t I go? I guess BC I’m nervous altogether. I’m a tiara noob, not 20 anymore (still got it tho lol) it’s just that kind of dancing isn’t my style. Not all day. In no way am I knocking the ladies that do it. I admire the talent, it’s just not me, and while I’m not a sc expert. I’ve been to a few it just feels like if I’m in that kind of club then I’ll be expected to do it all day too and if I’m doing it, i’d just rather be “me” as much as possible. I’d rather seduce and let my natural sexiness exude. Sensual and slow.

thanks for your advice as well Girl Anachronism! It does sound like the run around. It’s super irritating. Why even waste my time asking for photos or let me audition if you had no intention of hiring me?? I’m def working on my weight. More so just toning, I think I’m a good size....5’4 160....small waist, hourglass shape, nice big round butt and solid thighs....def not skinny and I’ll never be as skinny as some of the clubs require, and that’s ok. Also not meaning to put another woman down, but I’m sure we’ve all seen it. I’ve looked at whose on stage when I went and said to myself if she’s up there getting tips I KNOW I’ll make it. That’s the part that leaves me scratching my head lol

Being a stripper is not about being you! It's about the money. Clubs are racist and most will hire girls with ugly faces if they have thin bodies. Sadly, we are in the body business. I would like to work in a club that looks like the king of Siam's castle and wear silk slippers rather than stilettos but sadly I have to do spins on a pole and walk over to every customer and shake my butt in their faces for dollars because the clubs in my city are party clubs and so I need to meet the customers expectations! I wish the customers, managers, and DJs would meet my expectations.... sometimes I do get the types of chill guys who don't drink I love but if I was like NO, it's most important for me to be true to myself, I'd make no money, LOL. We are entrepreneurs. We get money from men however we are afforded the opportunity to get it!

^^its natural to feel silly at first but the learning curve is steep, if it's a good fit for you you'll know right away, and you'll start to feel more comfortable after a few shifts.

Thx ladies...I’m def building up courage to go back out. I have 3 clubs on my list to try and I’m just hoping someone will hire me. Hope these few pole classes I’ve taken will be out to good use lol. I’ve aimed myself up BC at the moment I NEED to do this. Nervous as hell and all. It’s the turndowns that make me feel like crap.

don't get me wrong, idk what you look like but it's not that being thick is a bad thing. men love curves.. but managers at the the bougie clubs don't. it's going to be very tough for you to get any upscale clubs to give you a chance with an overweight BMI. so personally i think that should be your main focus right now

also i agree w/what others said.. how it's not really about being "you". my dancer persona doesn't look, talk or dress like the real me and i'm super hard on myself when it comes to my body because the upscale clubs (like gold club/penthouse) can be brutal in regards to weight. plus sad to say but you are also held to a higher standard being black at those places :/

Thanks for the dose of reality. It sucks it has to be that way. With that being said...if I do try out a twerk Kind of club, then how do I fit in? I can shake and move it here and there, but all that headstand stunt tricks....not so much. How do I make it work? At least first starting off. I can learn fast, I don’t know why out of all things this is making me nervous. Taking me a little out of my zone. I apologize for the freak out and tons of questions lol.

thanks for not taking it the wrong way. like i said i think it's B.S. too that's just the way it is. and idk, is there a smaller/dive type club in your area that you could learn the ropes at? i've never danced in your area. there are definitely ways to hide flaws and accentuate assets with different outfits btw

No offense taken at all. I have thick skin, and appreciate the truth! It’s what I asked for. There is a dive or two nearby. One I absolutely can’t go to. Bad rap, since I was a little one growing up. I’ll look into the other. Gotta start somewhere

They don't want to hire you because you are TOO thick coupled with being black however, if you go to work at a twerk club, nobody is going to expect you to do handstands on the first day.

A corset is your friend. And you can start at an urban club or a dive while you lose the weight. Although I recommend an urban club as you won't have to work so hard hustling to get a dance and there'll probably be more money in the club. I started at a mud tier club to tone up and learn the ropes. When I went to my dream club I looked right, knew how to move and had platinum extensions down to my ass I couldn't have afforded before I started dancing. The first night I worked the general manager came over to say welcome and that he was glad I was working there. It's a better note to start off on.

. Thank you! I’m definitely taking this all in! So far I’ve got the heels some sexy Teddy’s and fishnets. I’ve been reading about garter belts...can you wear them and keep it on in an all nude club? I’m comfy w certain things too. Thicker band in the front and I’m good. I’ll rock the hell out of high waist. Tiny g string....not yet. Lol I really wanted to try topless first. Forgot to mention most if not all of the more urban clubs are full nude. I’m going to go over my list again and get some sleep. Wish me luck, I’m going to audition somewhere if not a few places tomorrow! Going to rock these fishnets and see what it does!

Because of the law and discrimination law suits. They have to make it appear that they are not discriminating against black performers.

Practical side.... How tough are your feet? At the end of the night doing 8 hours or more in stripper heels is rough. Add in fishnet hose which just dig into mine was hell. Then there is constantly pulling them up.

Sometimes you just got to get a job in whatever club you can and work your way up into a top tier club. When you walk in the door management knows immediately your capabilities to hustle. As an entertainer you have to be able to adapt to each club differently & which hustle works best in each one.
Clubs not only hire based upon looks but ability to hustle. More money you make, more money they make at tip out. Now top clubs want girls who can pull $1000 or more a night over one who is new & might be able to do $100 a night.

If you don't have the stereo typical look that club hires but you already within got the GM wrapped around your finger they will make an exception for you. Your hustle has to start with every male employee the minute you walk up to the place.

We all walk in the first time with ideas of what a stripper wears & hustles, isn't always what it turns out to be. Lots of it is paying your dues.

There's no shame in starting at a dive, most of us did! It'll help you learn the ropes and also help you slim down faster. Its fine to not be into the urban club scene and once you get good at hustling there's the potential to do well at an upscale club as a "niche" dancer.

To answer your question about garter belts in nude clubs, you definitely can rock them - just put them on before your g string so you can take it off easily...that's the important part

Good luck! You sound like you have a level head and a good attitude, I think you'll do fine once you get your foot in the door somewhere.

. Thank you so much for your kind words! I needed that. My emotions are all over. I did feel a certain way about dives. No shade to the ladies at all...I’m a noob on the outside looking in and just kind of figured there’s no money there and didn’t want to work myself crazy and make no money which I’m so in need of now. I’m definitely going to give it a go! Thanks so much ❤️

Ok....so I went to two clubs today. Called before I arrived. Decided on these two dives (although not that divey looking to me) both said over the phone no audition unless called to come in. Only application will be taken today. 1st club said no auditions at all. They evaluate you when you sit down to talk to manager. Ok....great right?....nope. Went to first club and filled out application given to me by bartender. Manager wasn’t there. Called about an hour after leaving from another number and asked to speak ....they said call back in about 30. Not in yet. So far I’m not feeling the run around....yet. Then I get to the second club. Guy asks me what position and shift....then said he will see if manager is available. Came back w application and took copy of my i’d. Said if they need someone they will call.....that club I felt the run around. This is my third club total. Very fist clubdodnt give a flat out no, and still has my j go, but said first freeze over (first cold to hit Midwest before shit gets real lol) it slows down drastically. Said I’m still an interest. I didn’t think it would be this hard and I’m not shaking my butt for dollars anywhere yet. I wish I could post a pic....I’m trying to be discreet. But believe me when I tell you.....even at a dive, I don’t think I’m one to turn away. Second club (first today) two customers tried to get a dance, asked when I’m going on stage lol. Told them the best it yet to come, hold your horses and I’ll be right back lol....no really....how should I take this? Is this normal?

First of all you are about to put your business all out in the street once you start stripping so being discrete is pointless.

There is always camming & filming fetish clips to make money online.

As an older lady and a BBW what clubs think is sexy & makes money is funny.

There are many mature thick gals of all races making money online. Now most ladies on this site prefer to keep their privacy. I am a porn star, everyone BETTER know who I am or my marketing skills are slacking. Here is my site Sam38g.com I am 48 yrs old & 185 pounds. You can google me, Samantha 38g and see all how many pages there of me all over the internet. If you go to manyvids.com BBWs are usually in the top 5 searched term on there.

Do NOT let these clubs undermine your self confidence. One of the reasons they prefer younger girls is that they can lie & rip them off more easily.

You can do research on this site & do phone sex & no one ever know it. You can do adult affiliate marketing, marketing for normal businesses. There are all kinds of ways to make money without going on a stage & shaking your ass.
There are companies for bigger ladies but are proportionate that need real life models. Like CurvyKate bras or something like that, Dove soap.

Dont let a few ego maniacs who work at strip clubs dictate your sexiness & ability to make money.

I wish this post had a love button Sam, if I could just ball you up and keep you with me in my purse when i go on these auditions lol. This is definitely an experience for the books lol. I saw your pics...wow! You’re beautiful btw I considered myself a bbw and you couldn’t tell me sugar honey iced tea! I wore it well....recently lost almost 100lbs so I kind of lost that title or “catergory” but the one I’m in fits me well and I’m owning it. They are definitely trying to shoot my confidence down. It’s cool...I appreciate your info advice and insight. It definitely valued and I must say I’m honored! I’m getting advice from a real life Porn star. Amaze balls!
